No sign of the camera yet, I am based in the UK.
It's now less than a month to the Early Bird Deadline and no hardware to test with. I guess it all adds to the challenge!

@germ13 where are you based?
@steve-wink Yup I agree. If you are really interested in the early bird deadline you can check the SDK first without the camera (getting familiar with the development process first, rather than wait until the camera arrived then you only starts download the installer and install it).
In fact, I think some one else in this forum create some kind of virtual camera for testing purpose (not sure if it works thou).

@hui edited my last post to reflect my location. California USA, by the way.
And can you elaborate on the virtual camera? I don't understand how a virtual camera would interact with the actual world.

@germ13 sorry could not found the thread about virtual camera, either it was my mistake or it had been deleted.
perhaps you can check this thread about temporary develop your app using inputmanager first and then later update to RealSense input
https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/topic/533779
About your question on virtual camera, Kinect studio is the best example.
basically you can record depth + color + IR frame, and the replay it many times. if you don't have the camera, some one else can record it and send you the file.
It acts like a virtual device in your PC so you don't even need the real camera to work with it.
too bad I think intel does not support this feature.

@hui Thanks for the clarification on the virtual camera. I was unaware that this could be done on the kinect.

To help work out when cameras are likely to arrive...I confirmed my address and accepted the agreement on November 7th before the announcements, so in theory the delivery time can be measured by when I receive mine.
I logged a couple of issues with the form, which were never fixed even though I received a mail saying they were being updated. Firstly, the agreement truncated half way through clause 7 and the rest was missing (I'm guessing nobody else actually read the terms!) Secondly it wasn't possible to complete the state/province field in the UK (and possibly other countries). It is limited to 2 characters, in the UK, the "County" (our equivalent of a state) could be as many as 20 or more characters (e.g Hereford and Worcester). I entered "--", I hope this isn't classed as incomplete.
Looking forwarding to posting those immortal words..."it's arrived!"

How did you know it was shipped on 19 Nov?
Do you get some kind of tracking email?

I only know from the shipping note on the package. I never received any earlier notification.
I'm sure that in past contests we got notified as soon as it was shipped.

Are you sure? I need someone from intel to confirm this.
I might not have enough time and manpower to implement both ideas.

Hui, those 2 ideas passed the Intel judges criteria, so you can develop one of them, or both. That's up to you.

When will I receive intel relasense cam. I have no tracking number yet. My idea got selected for round 2 and I am from India. Any contact source or tracking number is helpful as the time is running out.

I am from India too. I received a call and subsequently an email from Fedex Express asking for my KYC documents for customs clearance of the kit. Today, I got a call that the kit is cleared by customs but the duty has to be paid by me. I am waiting for clarification from Intel on whether they will bear the charges or should I take the delivery after paying the customs duty.
