Same issue with me. HP G60-230US. "Display driver igfx stopped responding and has successfully recovered". Happens randomly while surfing the web. Is there a fix for this yet?
I am currently using driver version 7.15.10.1829, Date 25/6/2009, under Vista Home Prem x32 and it has been working without any crashes for a long time now.
:)
Try updating your display drivers.

I have the same problem with my screen going black for a few seconds and then it comes back only i have not seen an error message and didnt even know what it was related to. I happened to find out i had a driver missing for PCI simple communications Controller and windows cant find the driver by itself. the ID is as follows
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_29C4&SUBSYS_5044107B&REV_02\3&18D45AA6&0&18
This is from my devices and printers>troubleshooting report and it sais error code 28 (although i dont get an error code when the screen blacks out though)
I dont know what kind of information i should be entering here. I'm not terribly good at technical stuff.
Anyway i thought i'd at least make a comment here since i have the same problem.
I am using windows 7 if that helps at all my monitor is an HP monitor...

Hello,
First of all, I'm assuming that you have a system with Intel Integrated Graphics. If not, I would recommend that you obtain the latest drivers from your system vendor and try again.
If you do have Intel Integrated Graphics, you should get the graphics drivers from the Intel site -- download the latest drivers by using Microsoft Internet Explorer* to browse to the graphics driver update page. This page runs a script that examines your system configuration, then updates the graphics drivers to the latest version. If this automatic graphics driver update process does not work, you can manually download the graphics drivers by searching for your graphics chipset, and then select and download the latest driver for your operating system.
Based upon the experience of others, this should resolve your problem, as this was a known issue with early versions of a specific graphics chipset (namely the Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset)... if not, then you'll need to provide more information before we can help. Specifically, we'll need to know the exact graphics chipset and driver you have installed (which you can obtain from the Device Manager control panel), your operating system (you mentioned Microsoft Windows 7*, but didn't say whether 32-bit or 64-bit mode), what resolution you are using for the monitor, how frequently the issue occurs, and whether any specific operation seems to cause the issue that you are seeing. The Event Viewer from the Adminstrative Tools control panel should also list graphics-specific errors, and if so including them here would be helpful as well.
Regards,
Neal
ps-> Also, be sure that you have the latest BIOS for your system, which can be obtained from your system vendor.
