Hi All,
I am following the getting-started-with-the-intel-edison-board-on-windows guide and passed the admin installation of ftdi drivers, but I don't see the USB Serial Port (COM12) shown in the device manager list of Ports after reboot. I only see Intel Edison Virtual Com Port (COM3).

I am running Windows 7. Does anyone know whether ftdi runs on Windows 7 or have any suggestions for things to check?
Thanks!
Phil

I hate to say this, but do you have the second USB cable connected? The FTDI driver won't load until the console cable is connected, and it can take a few minutes to appear. Another thing to try is powering up the Edison using a separate 7-15V supply using the barrel connector. Some PC's won't negotiate a full 500mA.
