we have recentely installed Intel parallel_studio_xe_2011 on the nodes of our farm, CentOS 5.x
On a subset of nodes the command ifort and icc with standard argument for the compilation of a very simple test program in Fortran or C return respectively
ifort: error #10103: can't fork process
icc: error #10103: can't fork process
Any suggestion?

the problem has been solved by rebooting the affected nodes, which worked as a solution but obviously does not provide any hints about the reason of the the problem.
We wonder if there is any connection with license management as in the morning we have updated the license on the license manager with a "lmreread" of the new license file, no other changes were applied to the system.
