Hello,
I have an HP laptop with a intel 945 graphic card. It runs at 1280x800. I want to extend the desktop on a Samsung 940BW (19", 1440x900 native resolution). The problem is i can't set the desired resolution for the monitor. In fact I can't set any 16:10 resolution. The weird thing (for me) is that the laptop display also uses a 16:10 display and it works. Why are these resolutions displayed for the additional display? For instance, I can choose between: 1280x(600, 720,768,960,1024). Just no 1280x800 for additional monitor. As I said, it is available for the laptop display. The second monitor appears as a generic non-PnP monitor without any aditional data in powerstrip. After installing the samsung driver, the name of the monitor and data appear correctly in the monitor information panel. However, I can't see any information about it in MonInfo. It only shows the laptop display. I tried some things i saw people worked for them, without any success. Any ideas?
Thanks

I fixed the problem using PowerStrip, although it says it only works for intel GMA and newer. I'll post the exact steps if there is anyone interested.
