I downloaded the Intel FortranCompiler Professional Edition 11.1 Build 056 for Linux for IA-32/Intel 64and was unable to install it.

More specifically:

-The installation kit untarred into a directory ..../l_cprof_p_11.1.056

- I placedthelicense (*.lic file) that was emailed to me in /opt/intel/licenses

-As root,launched the installer (./install.sh)

- I chose option (1) "Install as a root for system wide access for all users [default]

At Step no: 3 of 7 | Activation Options - Use a License File,

- I provided the correct path to the license file in /opt/intel/licenses

The installer says "The license file(s) you provided is not valid for this product."

I am attempting to install on a HP-DL580 with Xeon E7330 CPUs (Intel 64 architecture), running RHEL 4.6.

> uname -a

> Linux lakota 2.6.9-67.ELlargesmp #1 SMP Wed Nov 7 14:07:22 EST 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Can anyone advise how to overcome the above error?

Thanks in Advance.

The steps you described taking sound fine so the suspect would be the license file itself. Your license (from our RegCenter details) is valid so perhaps it was somehow corrupted when transmitting to your system. Remove the existing .lic file and retransmit a copy to your system and try your steps again.

If the error persists then Steve or Ron can move this thread to our Startup Support forum for the staff there to assist further.

Hello,

I'm having the same problem as this user. I've had a look through a few threads in the forum and I have followed the steps and reccommendations suggested.
On the Intel C++ compiler Subscription History page I can see the serial numbers provided. I have tried copying and pasting a licence, and saving the .lic file but I still get the message:
"The license file(s) you provided is not valid for this product."

Is there something else I am missing?

many thanks,
Adriana

There may be 2 problems here, I don't think they are the same.

Alexander, for the email address you use for this forum, I only see a linux non-commercial license registered. I assume you have another email that you used for Registrationcenter.intel.com when you registered the product. Make sure that you remove any/all old licenses from your /opt/intel/licenses directory and then put in the new license in /opt/intel/licenses. When asked for the license file, don't give the DIRECTORY, give the full path to the license file INCLUDING the license file name. Otherwise, the installer may pick up an old license in that dir.

Adriana, what is the product that you are trying to install - the name of the .tgz file you downloaded.

I downloaded the Intel C++ compiler from an internal software products page, I've mailed you the filename.
I extracted the files and ran the install.sh script.
I had cleared everything from the /opt/intel/licences folder. I tried installing with the licence from a general directory, using both just the path name and the path name with the filename; then I tried by copying the licence file into the /opt/intel/licences directory and did the same.

//edit: remove filename

In order to get access to the beta product, you should have applied for a separate beta license and agreed not to post questions about the beta on this forum.

What linux distribution and version do you use?

Did you install the prerequisites mentioned in the Release Notes ( gcc/g++, libstdc++.so.6, etc )?

Is you linux installation a 64bit installation (since you downloaded the 64bit compiler): uname -a should return:
.... x86_64 and not i386 or x86 strings

My apologies, as I did not see such info (references have now been removed). I used the link within the registration email to seek technical support.

Hello, everyone:

I met the same problem on x86_64 platform running Linux OS. I completed my registration of intel Parallel Studio XE Cluster Edition for Linux for stduent-use only with my school email.  I downloaded two versions of Intel Parallel Studio XE Composer Edition for C++ Linux

l_ccompxe_intel64_2013_5.192.tgz and l_ccomxe_intel64_2013.0.079.tgz.  I chose an offline installation and download the licence file. I put it in the /opt/intel/licenses directory without any other files. I run the install.sh and met the same problem in step 3: Activation. I chose to install with a license file, and put the directory of the license file : /opt/intel/licenses/NCOM_L__***********.lic.  The message shows that the licence(s) file is invalid for the product.  I have been confused with the problem for a few days. Someone will help me here ?  I will be so appreciate for your help.

Shirley.

Hi Shirley,

Could you please send me your serial number or filename of the license file (NCOM_L__***********.lic) via private message?  I'd love to take a look at it and see if there is anything wrong.

Thanks.
