up & running with vs2008 & parallel studio, icons is grey & unavailable

wonder if any services is a must in windows xp for these to start glowing
im using xp sp2

Not that I am aware of. The only time you'll see those greyed out is if you're using the Express Edition which is a limitation (no support for that in Intel Parallel Studio) and will not expose the interfaces for integration. Other than that, if you choose VS2008 for integration during Parallel Studio Install, then it should automatically be enabled and should show the icons....
