use non-commercial license on a cluster-on-demand

Hello,

I have non-commercial license for Parallel Studio XE, that is node locked to my laptop that I'm using for development.  I've used Fortran compiler to write a CFD code, that is OpenMP/MPI parallelized, and tested it to some extent on this laptop.  Now, I'd like to try it on a real cluster.  I found several cluster-on-demand offerings, that would make it possible for me to test and profile the MPI segments of code in proper environment, and eventually I'm leaning towards Penguin Computing POD offering (https://pod.penguincomputing.com/).  I've asked them about support for Intel compilers, and they said that they have them installed, but I need to bring in my own license.  So my question is: would it be possible to get another non-commercial license that I could use for this purpose?

Hi Crni,

I looked you and your license up on our database. Your product is expired; you shouldn't even be able to use it anymore. You may have been given this product as a predecessor to our free software program.

If you still qualify for free software (such as being with a university), you can find information about signing up for a new free license here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/qualify-for-free-software

You would be able to install this software or use its license on up to three systems for your own use.

If you do not qualify for free software, I'm afraid you'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a new copy.

Thanks for the clarification.  The license in question is actually registered under different username, sorry for the confusion.

I looked at the serial number you gave me. Things look fine. :) It hasn't reached its activation cap yet (even if it had, you could deactivate systems so you could use it; see my next paragraph), so you can use it on other systems, as described in the FAQ: https://software.intel.com/en-us/faq/licensing#named-vs-single-user-license

Since you don't own that system, please remember to remove your license when you're done so other people can't use it. You should also then deactivate that system so it doesn't use up an activation slot. https://software.intel.com/en-us/faq/licensing#release-activation

You do not need another license. :)

However, I do want to warn you that it looks like that license is close to expiration!
