Hello alibader,
Thank you for your interest in the Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P Series.
I understand that you are experiencing a recognition issue.
Could you please confirm that your motherboard is the following https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-X-CODE/ https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-X-CODE/? If this is not the case, please provide the corresponding link.
Additionally, could you please tell me more about your setup?
- Do you have another drive or drives connected to the motherboard?
- Are you setting up a RAID?
- Is the Intel® Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P Series intended to be used as booting device or storage only?
- Is this an out-of-the-box issue?
- Have you tested the drive in another system? Is this a possibility?
I'll be waiting for your response.
Regards,
Andres V.

Additionally, could you please tell me more about your setup?
- Do you have another drive or drives connected to the motherboard? I have disconnected all the SSDs
- Are you setting up a RAID? Yes with my other Drivers (Samsungs 860 EVO 1TB currently disconnected)
- Is the Intel® Intel® Optane™ SSD 900P Series intended to be used as booting device or storage only? It will be used for Windows (yes for booting)
- Is this an out-of-the-box issue? Sort of the first time I installed it it showed, but my USB for windows installation had some issues so i changed it and the second time the issue started as i mentioned.
- Have you tested the drive in another system? Is this a possibility? No its not only have 1 PC, but i did try the SSD on all PCIe slots the 16x , 8x and 4x (here where it supposed tobe)
Finally, you mention that "… when I boot on USB to install Windows I can see the SSD". Does this mean that you can go on with the installation process? yes i completed the installation(as per windows installer) but cannot boot.
Thank you for the quick response highly appreciated.

hello,
I have tried the installation guide, no good the same issue, the SSD shows up in the installer but not in the BIOS. Im wondering if its a driver issue, and have no idea to fix it if it was the case. Also i have the latest BIOS for the MB as per Asus website.
Thank you

Hello alibader,
Thank you for the update.
The driver works on an OS level, and the issue you describe is on a BIOS level, so I don't think that is the root cause.
Could you please explain how you set up your USB Windows UEFI install key? What software are you using? What are the steps followed to perform this task?
I'll be waiting for your response.
Regards,
Andres V.

hello,
I download ISO file from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) and used the windows creation tool (forgot the actual name) and choose the USB to be a bootable drive. I used no 3rd party software to setup the USB.
Thank you

Hello alibader,
Thank you for answering the question.
Is it possible for you to create a USB bootable media with support for UEFI using Rufus*, as described in the bottom part of this website (How to create a USB bootable media using Rufus) https://www.windowscentral.com/how-create-windows-10-usb-bootable-media-uefi-support https://www.windowscentral.com/how-create-windows-10-usb-bootable-media-uefi-support? We would like to discard that the issue you are experiencing is related to an incompatibility between a UEFI-set-BIOS and a Legacy-set-OS.

I HAVE TRIED WHAT YOU MENTIONED, NO LUCK BUT I CAN OVERRIDE BOOT IN THE BIOS AND WINDOWS WILL LAUNCH, BUT WHEN RESTARTING IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE BIOS AND THE SSD IS NOT DETECTED.

Hello alibader,
Thank you for trying the suggestion provided and for testing another SSD.
I understand that the issue persists.
What caught my attention is the fact that the same issue is present when replicating the steps on a different SSD. This, along with what you previously stated (that this is not exactly an out-of-the-box issue) leads me to think that the issue may be related to the BIOS configuration or a motherboard issue.
Either way, until you are able to test the SSD in another system, the next step would be to contact your motherboard's manufacturer technical support team (https://www.asus.com/us/support/ https://www.asus.com/us/support/) and ask for the corresponding assistance to configure your system.
In case you have any update or question, don't hesitate to contact us.
Regards,
Andres V.
