Questions about the VROC Premium license key:
- Does anyone have a disk I/O benchmarks (ATTO Benchmark or similar) to compare performance of the same hardware, same SSDs, but with different license key levels?
- Activates a Cache that automatically built into the IC (but unused until license)
- Does this cache features a mini BBU (Battery Backup Unit) as-well to protect the cache contents if EDF cuts out and RPS / UPS are absent?
Basically just trying to figure out if it is worth the extra $150 for Premium; and, if a BBU is absent, it On desktop environments which lack RPS+UPS, is not worth it even if the cache accelerates read and write performance by 10%.
Merci,
~Brian

I've done some benchmarking on a reference platform (Intel Xeon-W, 12 core, Samsun NVMe) using a standard License; I'd like to compare the benchmark to a Premium license with the CACHE enabled and compare the results. I will share publicly if I have the results before Intel has a reply.

The previous articles & links contained no Benchmark comparison of the Standard to Premium I/O performance in combination with the same underlying hardware (Motherboard; NVMe SSDs).
Customers need a benchmark results to visually examine to be able to make an informed purchasing decision (Premium vs Standard).
Maybe someone from Intel can comment on this:
Supposedly (according to Intel official documentation) a PREMIUM LICENSE KEY is required to enable CACHING.
However, upon closer inspection using the windows management client, with a STANDARD license key, I see CACHING as enabled!
What is going on here, Intel?
