I was recently guided from the Product Forum to the Software Forum to clarify the availability of XOR operations using the Intel® Data Streaming Accelerator (DSA).
I am currently working with an Intel® Xeon® 8558 CPU (5th Gen) and utilizing the on-chip DSA to optimize memory operations. While I have successfully accelerated the copy operation, I am encountering difficulties implementing the XOR operation.
Although the Intel DSA Specification (Revision 3.0) states that XOR is a supported operation, I have not found a clear way to utilize it within the current software stack.
My questions are:
Is the lack of XOR support a limitation of the current software stack (e.g., driver or library implementation)?
Is the XOR operation supported on the hardware level in the 5th Generation Xeon (8558) I am using, or is it reserved for future architectures?
