Hello gingerbread60,

Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities.

I can see that you are getting an error code -10 with your wireless adapter.

Regarding this, I have compiled a few steps that you can try to fix the issue at hand, please refer to the information below:

  1. Restart your computer if you haven't done so already. The error Code 10 you're seeing could have been caused by a temporary problem in Device Manager or with the hardware. If so, a reboot might fix the Code 10 error.
  2. Remove any hardware you may added to the computer prior to the error message. There could be a device causing a hardware conflict or compatibility issues. Did you install a device or make a change in Device Manager just before the Code 10 error appeared? If so, it's possible that the change you made caused the Code 10 error. Undo the change if you can, restart your PC, and then check again for the Code 10 error.
  3. Perform a https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html clean installation of drivers. Uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers for the device is a likely solution to a Code 10 error. Notice that Properly reinstalling a driver is not the same as simply updating a driver. A full driver reinstall involves completely removing the currently installed driver and then letting Windows install it over again from scratch.
  4. Update the drivers for the device. It's also very possible that installing the latest drivers for the device could correct the Code 10 error, even if these drivers were previously functional.
  5. Another possibility, while not very likely, is that the device is not compatible with your version of Windows. You can always check with the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
  6. Something else that could be tried is to reset the BIOS settings, this can be done by accessing the BIOS itself and looking for the option to get the BIOS settings back to default, you can get more information and assistance by contacting the manufacturer which in this case is Asus*.
  7. As a last resource, if you're positive that a hardware problem isn't causing the Code 10 error, you could try a repair install of Windows. If that doesn't work, try a clean install of Windows. I don't recommend doing either before you replace the hardware, but you may have to give them a try if you're out of other options.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

David V

I received the full text of your now removed insults.
I suggest you take a course in basic communications skills, civil conduct and dialogue.

Your demonstrated that you are very immature, plus you are far off topic.

Please do not write to me anymore I do not want to read you caustic insinuations!

The only thing that worked, on a Dell G5 15 5590 (MFR23.12.2018) which immediately fixed it after reboot, was a reset of BIOS to BIOS defaults (not to factory settings). I hope this can help other users with the same problem (code 10) on Windows 10.

I find it amazing, how Intel does not recommend this to anyone with the same problem. I spent days trying every single bit of suggestions from Intel, from Dell.. I was even considering buying a replacement unit, thinking that it was faulty.

I hope this solution works for everyone having code 10 error on this chip (9560NGW R). By the way, for some reason, cables black and white are swapped on my laptop (black to white, and white to black) and thats the way it is working.

Cheers!

Edited: Besides the wifi card, if Bluetooth, or mouse, or sound, stops working as it should, or even, stop working suddenly, all this, is probably due to Windows Updates that break the BIOS configuration> BIOS which, was made specifically for your laptop to work as it should right out of the box, and thats all you paid for. So, I can find here, a monetary reason why MS and Intel do not respect, or enforce such respect regarding old drivers/old hardware; however, in acting this way, such could force consumer to think, that their laptop is garbage and better buy the new garbage that works... for some time, until MS and Intel, or any other brand involved in hardware sales, decide, its time you enjoyed new hardware .... Anyway, here is a suggested way for blocking installation of new drivers, replacing the only ones that were made for, and so, must work in your laptop, that I retrieved from Dell India website:

  1. Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
  2. Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
  3. Browse the following path:
    • Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update
  4. On the right side, double-click the Do not include drivers with Windows Update policy.
  5. Select the Enabled option.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click OK.

Since other users with other brand computers encountered the same error code 10 issue with the Intel Wi-Fi 9560 in Windows 10 it shows that there is a design defect Intel thinks it can fix endless updating the drivers. However the latter has no effect. The problem lies with the USB Bluetooth channel. Once uninstalled and disabled and a BIOS reset you can get the Wi-Fi to work.
this is a design defect that should be addressed by Intel.
When you Google "Intel Wi-Fi 9560 error code 10" you get over 36million returns!
this defect was introduced either by Intel and/or Windows in some update in 2021 or early 2022 as the years before then it worked perfectly.
As soon as Windows over eagerly every times reinstalls the bluetooth drivers it again without asking, the problem is back.
It is my opinion that it is their responsibility to fix this for real and for good and perhaps a legal action is  required to get them to do that.
I have lost business and revenue with this nonsense and it took me some time to figure out some sort of "workaround".
still I yet have to travel with a extra external plug-in AC Wi-Fi as backup.

Update: Windows 10 subbornly keeps ignoring the above suggested steps; if it also happens to you, you may follow the steps suggested by this youtube userin his video tutorial on how to specifically block any and all changes to hardware drivers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKEsIPyqPDY&ab_channel=IgoroTech

Edit #3

One last step that may by itself (or cumulatively with the above steps) is as follows, copied from Microsoft community answers:

  1. Press Windows + S keys together to open Search

  2. Now type Device installation settings

  3. Click on Change Device installation settings and then select the option No (your device might not work as expected)

  4. Now click on Save Changes

Since I did this last step, mouse does not act up every day like it used to, neither did the wireless & bluetooth, like they used to, due to new drivers, probably conflicting, from Microsoft Windows Updates.

This issue goes on for over half a decade and Intel thinks that just constantly updating the drivers, which it does, will solve the problem which it does not!!!The first post about this issue shows up in an online search, dated October 2018!

It's a design flaw, it's a defective product that creates a conflict the minute the Bluetooth drivers installed.

The issue is repetitive over and over and the only way I found it to be stable is when disabling the Bluetooth functions as there lies the conflict.

Why don't you (Intel) admit to it and instead of posting again and again misleading "advice to fix it" template answers if not already AI babble?

The problem is real with the Intel AC 9560 and can be easily reproduced over and over again.

I'm not alone with this experience of opinion as a simple online search with the words "problem Intel AC 9560 error code 10" generates millions and millions of return "answers"! The list of idiotic "solutions" all the way down to reinstalling Windows is almost endless!

Like if I'd tell you if you to your problem that can't get any forward gear engaged in your car  to just drive backwards with the reverse to solve the problem... DOH!?

I have written/posted here extensively about the issue and how I eventually found some "fix & workaround" to at least temporarily get rid of the issue. It's really fun when you travel and it creeps up on you and you're stuck and cannot even book or confirm anything online!!!

Metaphorically speaking; your "solution" is on the level if your house's front door jams and does not close properly your advice equivalent would be pretty much to tear down the house and rebuild it from the foundation up! Versus the fact that just one screw in the latch is missing causing the door  misalignment not allowing to close the door...!
