AX200 slow upload speed

Hi,

AX200 is connected to 802.11AC router via 5Ghz band. Tested connection speed with iperf3:

~170 Mbits/sec download
~25 Mbits/sec upload

Tried tweaking following settings for iwlwifi driver without success:

11n_disable
uapsd_disable
bt_coex_active
disable_11ac
disable_11ax

A different network card achieves consistent ~170 Mbits/sec download/upload speed. How can I achieve better upload performance with this card? Is this issue related?

Please find debug information below:

Hello @rhubinak

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to check this further, could you please provide the following details?

1- Did the wireless upload speed work fine before at any time? If yes, do you remember if this issue happened after a new operating system update or Wireless/Bluetooth driver/firmware update?

2- Is the Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 the original wireless adapter that came pre-installed in your system or did you integrate/replace it on the computer?

3- What is the current Internet speed that you have for your ISP service? Is this behavior happening on the Internet (when browsing the web) and/or the LAN (your local network, for instance, transferring data to another device in your network)?

4- Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks?  Have you tried a different router or Access point for testing purposes? Maybe one that is AX compatible? Have you rebooted your access-point, router, modem?

5- Have you checked if this issue happens testing only the laptop and the router? (no other wireless devices connected to the wireless network during this test).

Best regards,

Hi Andrew,

Sure, please find below:

1- Did the wireless upload speed work fine before at any time? If yes, do you remember if this issue happened after a new operating system update or Wireless/Bluetooth driver/firmware update?

Nope, if it did I did not notice.

2- Is the Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 the original wireless adapter that came pre-installed in your system or did you integrate/replace it on the computer?

Yep, it's integrated in the Lenovo T14s model range.

3- What is the current Internet speed that you have for your ISP service? Is this behavior happening on the Internet (when browsing the web) and/or the LAN (your local network, for instance, transferring data to another device in your network)?

My current Internet speed is 30Mbit upload/download, therefore I cannot really tell if this behavior is happening on the Internet. The issue manifests itself on WLAN.

4- Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks?  Have you tried a different router or Access point for testing purposes? Maybe one that is AX compatible? Have you rebooted your access-point, router, modem?

I haven't tested the issue on different networks. Unfortunately, I don't have access to an AX compatible router. I have rebooted the router and the results are the same.

5- Have you checked if this issue happens testing only the laptop and the router? (no other wireless devices connected to the wireless network during this test).

Yes, I have tested with both "only laptop and router" and "router with 2 laptops" sending data to each other.

Hello @rhubinak

Thank you for the details provided.

Just for clarification purposes, in the initial post, you mentioned that you get:

~170 Mbits/sec download

~25 Mbits/sec upload

However, regarding our question # 3, you mentioned the current Internet speed is "30Mbit upload/download". Is this correct? Or did you mean 300 Mbit?

(We just want to make sure we have the correct information).

Hello rhubinak

We have not heard back from you so we will proceed to close this thread now.

This issue seems to be related to OS/Linux kernel so our final recommendation is to check with the Linux community for additional assistance, or with the computer manufacturer (OEM), Lenovo* support since they are the ones that integrated the wireless card on the system.

If you need any additional information, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Best regards,
