AX210 slow since Linux kernel 6.5/6.6

I'm experiencing a performance issue with the AX210 network adapter on kernel versions 6.6 (or 6.5?) and later. Download speeds, which easily exceeded 600 Mbps on kernel 6.4, now start at 300 Mbps and slow down to 30-200 Mbps. This issue is reproducible across multiple Linux distributions with kernel 6.6 or higher, but not on latest Debian which  uses much older kernel

here's iwlwifi dmesg log:

Hello Alawami,

Thank you for posting at Intel Community Forum

For me to properly address this concern, please share the following details:

  1. Have tried a roll back to a previous driver version for testing?
  2. Is this a laptop or desktop system?
  3. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

Additionally, to have a better understanding of your system configuration and components please generate System Support Utility (SSU) report. Please follow instructions here and send the report - How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

I hope to hear from you soon!

Best regards,

1. Rolling back to kernel 6.4 fixes the problem, anything above 6.6 have the issue

2. Desktop custom built.

3. wifi adapter installed personally 2 years ago.

Note: running "sudo iw dev wlo1 set power_save off" is fixes the issue temporarily

SSU file output is attached

thanks

Updating the firmware to the latest git makes no change. The problem still exists

Hi Alawami,

Thank you for the update.

Since the issue persists, we would like to know if you have other devices that is having the same issue?

Additionally, we would like to share some recommendations.

1. Please try using a different network to see if the same issue will occur.

2. Consider to disable PCIe ASPM on AX210. You may check out this link

3. Try to access BIOS and disable settings related to PCIe power save or PCIe ASPM (Active State Power Management)

Furthermore, based on the MSI B450-A-PRO specification, it seems that this hardware can only support Windows® 10 64-bit OS, please check with your board manufacturer if this hardware can support Linux OS.

If the above recommendations doesn't work, let me know so we can conduct extensive investigation.

I hope the information helps.

Best regards,
