Hello Jianhui,

Starting with PROSet version 19.60.0 we have begun publishing release notes along with our generic wireless drivers. These notes include the key fixes and changes. For a full change-log you will need to engage your http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support, or sales representative if applicable.

Thanks a lot Carlos.

I have a laptop with AC 3165 running 18.30 driver. My laptop's operation system is Windows 7 64-bit. I found that this laptop will affect the whole wireless network that other users in the same AP will get very bad Wi-Fi experience. Could you let me know is it this driver version with some bug? Thanks again

Hello Jianhui,

Is this a new computer? If so, it could be killing your bandwidth by downloading a backlog of updates, syncing to cloud services (onedrive*, dropbox*, itunes*, antivirus definitions, etc). If that's the case, it's possible for the issue to disappear once the initial syncing and updating process is complete. If it's not a new computer, then a malware infection could be the cause.

If the issue only happens in this particular network, then your AP could be to blame. It's always important to make sure you're running the latest firmware available, as this will often make the biggest difference.

You may also want to check the Quality of Service (QoS) settings on your router. Some APs have QoS or priority lists which will ensure bandwidth is divided equally, or can assign priority status to certain computers. For more information on this it's best to refer to your internet service provider or router manufacturer.

We can also check the settings on your wireless adapter to make sure everything is optimal from our end. In order to do so, please download and run our https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility System Support Utility. You will then need to attach the report generated by switching over to the advanced editor while replying.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Hi Carlos,

Thanks again for your answers. Actually we have lots of laptops integrated AC3165 in our corporate. Most of them are running 18.30 driver and those laptops affect our wireless frequently. The rest of them are running 19.01 driver and the wireless network is OK. So I'm afraid 18.30 driver is with some bugs in it.

Another information I should post here, I found that for Windows7, 18.30 driver is not supported? But for the other version of drivers, Windows 7 are all supported. Unfortunately, our laptops are running Windows7. You can see the link: http://www.intel.cn/content/www/cn/zh/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005634.html 下载英特尔® PROSet/无线软件和 Wi-Fi 驱动程序

Please kindly let me know whether 18.30 is with some bugs or actually Intel AC3165 with 18.30 do NOT support Windows7? Thanks

Best regards,

Jianhui Mo

Hello Jianhui,

It's important to keep in mind that the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software is package. For Windows* 7 it will contain your wireless software, and the drivers for all of our current wireless adapters. Because of this, it's not uncommon for your driver version and your PROSet version to be different.

The latest driver for the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 in Windows* 7 is version 19.10.5.3, which can be found in our latest PROSet version 19.60.0.

Our recommendation in this case will be to update to the latest version, as this will likely address the issues you're experiencing with driver 18.30.
