I can't install the Intel AC 9560 WiFi driver. I have followed Intel's recommendations but it always errors out with an "Install Failure" and "A fatal error occurred during installation."
The steps I tried included:
1) Downloading the new driver from Intel
2) Completely deleting the old driver from Device Manager and checking the box to delete from the system
3) Restarting the computer
4) Running the downloaded driver as Administrator
It never completes the install and errors out.
After the install error there is no network adapter and no internet and the only way I can get the internet to work again is to do a system recovery to a previous restore point.
I am attaching a system report from the Intel® System Support Utility
Can anyone please help with why the driver installation doesn't work?

Here is proper process for performing a clean WLAN Install:
- If you haven't already, download - but do not install just yet - the latest Bluetooth and WiFi drivers for your adapter. Here are links to these drivers:
- Disable Internet access. Unplug Ethernet cable and/or disable wireless. Keep disabled until told to re-enable.
- From Apps & Features, uninstall any instances of the Intel PROSet/Wireless Software and Intel Wireless Bluetooth that exist, choosing to Discard Settings.
- Manually shutdown and reboot your computer.
- In Device Manager > Network Adapters, check for entry for Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9560. If none, go to Step 8.
- Right click on the entry for your Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9560 and uninstall it., choosing to Delete the driver software for this device.
- Go to Step 4.
- (Optional but recommended) Clear out your temporary files using the Windows Clean Disk tool.
- Install the drivers downloaded in step one. Install Bluetooth first, followed by Wireless.
- Manually shutdown and reboot your computer.
- Enable Internet access.
- Test.
Hope this helps,
