Help with Windows 8 Intel My WiFi Dashboard

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping this is a relatively easy fix, but I guess we'll see. I got Windows 8 Pro through my school, and now I can't seem to figure out how this new dashboard for windows 8 works. I downloaded the windows 8 dashboard from intel, but when I open it up, the only option that is available to me is the do not disturb option, and it isn't in the lite version, so I guess I'm not sure how to get my devices to pick this up again since I don't have wireless and hotspot switches on my dashboard anymore :/

Occurs the same with my notebook. With Win 7 works well, but with the upgrade .. Win 8 and the new MyWifiDashboard (version 15.5.0) only the not disturb option appears.

I have the same issue. Windows 8 X64 the 6300 Intel adapter on an Alienware. Software version 15.1.1 showed the hotspot options, but said it wasn't a compatible version of the software. The most current software does not display the features.

Same here. Running Windows 8 Pro with a Centrino Advanced-N 6235. All I want to be a happy customer is hotspot functionality! Bring it full circle Intel! I stopped using a Killer Wireless-N card because of bad drivers and slow support. Granted, at least I have stable internet with the Intel card, but still... was looking forward to this perk I remember having last I owned an Intel Wifi card.

I remember having the dashboard working with windows 8 consumer preview, but it must be a certain combination of driver and dashboard versions, has anyone tried another combination? please

Same problem here on an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250.

I did a driver update on windows 7 via the Hp support assistant and now my intel wifi dashboard is a lite version.

On windows 8 I only have the 'do not disturb' tab.

Reinstalling the PROSet/Wireless software will fix this. Mine got fixed. remember when installing, choose "custom" installation type and make sure you've checked all the items as "Run from local disk"

Where is that option(run from local disk)? I don't see that option when installing ProSet software even under custom installation. Am using v15.6.0.

it needs a registry tweak.here is how:

open

http://pastebin.com/WKeUcxgx http://pastebin.com/WKeUcxgx

then,

open a notepad, and paste the text from the above link. save it as a .reg file and run.. after adding the registry info, you'll get the "Run as Administrator" context menu for MSI installations.

inform me if anything goes wrong.
