How can I extract the inf file from the wireless drivers (exe) file?

I am creating system recovery disk for Nortons Ghost and it requires the network drivers for my laptop. I am using Windows 7 (64 bit), but Ghost can only work with 32 bit drivers on the recovery disk. I need to download the 32 bit wireless drivers for my Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205, and for my Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection. When I download them from the Intel site, they are in an exe file. Norton Ghost is looking for an INF file. How can I get the 32 bit drivers for both those interfaces extracted, so I can point Norton to that directory to load the drivers on the recovery disk it's building?

Regards,

Steve

Let me help you with your question.

You can download https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23495 the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for IT Administrators which is in Zip file format.

Regarding the Ethernet driver, I believe you can open the exe file with a Zip or Rar file application and extract the INF file. There is also the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3299&DwnldID=22283 Intel® Ethernet Connections CD.

Thanks for your help. I was able to get the correct drivers, although it didn't actually solve the problem... I guess I have to go back to Symantec to find out why Ghost can't boot with the network drivers. It doesn't see either of the network adapters.

Steve
