Hi, i have upgraded my Dell Mini 9 from Broadcom 802.11g to Intel 5100 AGN. I installed Windows 7 Starter Edition and all it's configurated, but not the wireless. Windows recognized the wifi but in Driver Properties read "Impossible to start the device - Code 10". I tried ALL driver from version 12.0.x.y to 14.0.x.y, the last on Intel site, but nothing. Anyone have resolved this problem?
Thank's for the help.

Installing or upgrading the various Intel® Wireless Adapters by end users is not supported by Intel.
There are several reasons why your laptop may not recognize new hardware when you install an Intel® Wireless Adapter.
When installing an Intel wireless adapter in a computer that previously did not contain an Intel wireless adapter, an error message might occur at boot time saying that an incorrect or unsupported adapter has been detected. The same error might occur when upgrading an Intel adapter with a different model adapter. Instead of the boot error described above, the new adapter might be detected as an "Unknown Device" and/or the driver will not install, even when a manual driver installation process is followed.
Please contact the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support so they can let you know if the Intel® WiFi Link 5100 is supported in your system and the best way to upgrade your wireless adapter.

Thanks,
There are no errors at boot time. It is a HP IQ507 and it does recognize the device in Device Manager but says 'The device cannot start (Code 10). I find it hard to beleive that a machine with an Intep prcessor would have problems with a Inte; WiFi Card..

Hello SkyNet3,
Issues with custom integrations may appear during the installation of the driver, or as problems to start the device.
This type of error may indicate a conflict with other components installed in the OS, or a compatibility issue. In our best effort to help, here are some Microsoft advisories with additional information about this condition:

As mentioned in the previous documents, uninstalling the driver for the Intel® WiFi Link 5100 and then installing the most recent driver may help. However, you might want to contact HP support to determine if there are any components related to the original adapter that need to be uninstalled as well, and to confirm any compatibility issues with your PC.
