Hi,
I am observing this issue with intel 8265/8260 chipsets (client) running on Win 10 machines.
With CCKM enabled on client side and Cisco controller having setting: CCKM, FT-802.1X and FT enabled. The response is that Wi-Fi interface is switched on/off due this phenomenon.
Logs of not authentication phenomenon are attached. Is this setting due to CCKM capability or some interoperability with Cisco-Intel. If CCKM is disabled it connects. Error displaed in CommView logs is shown below:

Hello nishant1455,
We understand you are getting connectivity issues with CCKM enabled and computers using Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265. Here are a few items for your consideration based on your description of the issue:
- Please take into consideration that CCXv5 is not supported by Intel, and CCXv4 may require additional configuration and custom profiles from the administrator. For more information, please review the document: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006222/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html Frequently Asked Questions for Enterprise and IT Administrators.
- Before we consider any further issues, we recommend you to perform a https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers, using https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27849/Wireless-Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-10 Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 10 version 20.60.0, or the latest available from your https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support.
We recommend you to create a ticket with Cisco Support as well, as they will be able to provide details about the events shown in the access points.
Let us know if this helps, or in case you require further assistance.
Regards,
Jonathan B.

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for the suggestion. I tested your other cards like Intel 6300 (n Win 7), Intel 8265 (Win 7) and Intel 8260 (win 7), which works for CCKM enabled setting (like this) with our Cisco controller. So its clear that Cisco controller i am using is fine with CCX ver. 4. Now the behavior with Win 10 is pretty strange as it even lead to my Wi-Fi card (Intel 8265 on Win 10) to enable/disable when trying to connect as you would have seen in the logs. If the CCX capabilities didn't match it would have not reached association stage.
Observing association request (sent by intel card), i see the packet is seen as malformed by Wireshark (could be dissection issue, so ignoring), but rest it says clearly the AKM method it supports is Cisco key management (or CCKM).
But in reply Cisco sends invalid MDIE which is strange. I believe it can be a Cisco issue, but i want to know if this behavior is been observed or known. Also can you suggest me where to post for Cisco support.
Thanks and regards
Nishant

Hello Nishant,
Thanks for the additional information. It is important to mention that with current versions of Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software, the Cisco CCX functionality is not installed by default; please check the https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006222/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html Frequently Asked Questions for Enterprise and IT Administrators for details about this and how to enable it.
Please remember to perform a clean driver installation as well, before considering other options.
