Intel AC 8560 works on Linux, fails on Windows 10

Hello,

I have AC9560 on Asus UX333FN. PCI: 8086:9df0

Under Windows 10 it started to drop connections after few minutes of work. It used to work fine 3-month ago. I'm quite certain that hardware is OK, as under Linux (iwlwifi driver) same notebook works just fine.

So far I tried different drivers 20.30.1... 20.50.1 from Intel, recent driver 20.40.1 from ASUS website, but no luck. Sometimes it does work, but then stops. Shutdown with "shutown /s /t 1 " does not help.

I suspect that this is due to "powersaving" of some kind.

  1. Is there a way to force AC9560 firmware reload once Windows 10 is up and running?
  2. Is there old version of driver like 18 series without modern improvements which many peple say is much more stabe.

Thank you,

Alexander.

  1. You may disable the power saving option:
  2. In the search box write: Network Connections and then click on View Network Connections
  3. Right click on your WiFi adapter and then on left click on Properties.
  4. Click on Configure (below the WiFi adapter name).
  5. Click on Power Management tab and uncheck: "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power"
  6. Open Windows setting System>Power & Sleep
  7. Click on Additional power settings (on R.H side)
  8. Click on Change plan settings (of the chosen plan)
  9. Click on Advanced power settings.
  10. Open the Wireless Adapter Settings and check the settings for Power Saving Mode.

Hi, Leon!

Thank you for detailed answer! Actually I checked on that. And in driver properties as well. But it does not help.

Hopefully someone from Intel can look into that.

Alexander.

Hello AKush8,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

To better assist you with your request, I will need to check some information about your computer. Please follow these steps:

Please run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach the report to this thread.

1. Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)

  • Intel® SSU Download link
  • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
  • Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".

Questions:

Are you using a 2.4GHz band or 5.0GHz band?

Is this a new wireless card integration?

Is there any other device that drops the signal?
