Intel AX210 Wi-Fi Driver Issue

I am experiencing serious connectivity issues with my Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E adapter. Using the latest driver (23.160.0.4), download speeds initially reach normal levels, but drop almost immediately, and after a few minutes all networks disappear and the connection is lost. Using the base Windows driver allows stable speeds (~330 Mbps) but causes a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and system restart. Attempts to install older/stable drivers are blocked, as the installer reports that a newer version is already installed. I need assistance in installing a stable driver version that provides reliable Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and full-speed performance without crashes.

Hello George00,

Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.

To properly diagnose and isolate the root cause of this issue, I need additional system information. Please provide the following details:

1) Is this a newly purchased system with an out-of-the-box wireless issue or has the worked well before and only had the issue recently?

2) If previously working, were there any changes made before the issue started? (OS updates, driver updates new hardware add-ons, changes in settings, etc.)

3) Is the Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 pre-installed on your system device or an upgrade/replacement to a faulty component?

4) Have tried a roll back to a previous driver version for testing?

5) Are there any errors whenever the connection drops or are there any error message from the Device Manager's network adapter (AX210) properties window?

6) Kindly share your system configuration so I can fully check and provide you with an accurate fix. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

  • Scan: Check the box Everything.
  • Click Scan.
  • Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
  • Click Save. *Attach the SSU log file as you reply.

This information will help me better understand your system configuration and determine the exact source of the problem.

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

JeanetteC.

Hello,

Thank you very much for your quick response and willingness to help.

I would like to let you know that I was able to solve the issue on my end. The root cause turned out to be the driver version. With the latest releases, I was experiencing very unstable performance (slow speeds, sudden disconnects, and missing networks after a few minutes). After rolling back and testing several versions, I finally found a stable one that works properly with my Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210.

To answer your questions briefly:

  1. This was not an out-of-the-box issue. The card is an upgrade/replacement, and the problem started only after installing the newest drivers.

  2. The only major changes before the issue were driver updates.

  3. The Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 is an upgrade, not pre-installed.

  4. Yes, I have tested rollbacks to older versions, and that is what resolved the problem.

  5. I did not get a clear error in Device Manager, but I did experience network drops, and sometimes all Wi-Fi networks disappeared until I restarted the PC.

  6. Since the issue is now resolved and performance is stable (around 525 Mbps download / 110 Mbps upload, matching my ISP plan), I believe there is no need to provide SSU logs unless you still need them for analysis.

For reference, the only driver version that works properly and provides stable performance on my system is 22.230.0.8, and only manual installation solved the problem.

I hope this feedback helps you and your team with further improvements for driver stability. Thank you again for your support.

Best regards,
George

Hello George00,

We're truly pleased to hear that you were able to resolve the issue after testing multiple driver versions. We also sincerely appreciate the additional information you’ve shared—it’s very helpful.

Regarding the Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 upgrade, please be advised that before installing or replacing the Intel® Wireless Adapter in your system, it is essential to consult your system manufacturer. This ensures that the adapter is approved for use in your specific system and complies with regulations in your country.

It’s also important to note that compatibility issues—whether hardware or software-related—may prevent the adapter from functioning as expected. We strongly recommend reaching out to your OEM to verify and follow any post-approval requirements they may have.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

I can confirm these issues with an Intel AX211 Wi-Fi 6E on my Lenovo Vantage, as well as with an Intel AX210 on my Acer Aspire. The connection is highly unstable. Download speed dropped from 1Gbps to 3-4Mbps, upload from 800Mbps to nearly 1Mbps, also with blue screens of death every now and then.

Nothing resolves the issue except for a manual rollback rolled back to the previous version. Never had these issues before, there seems to be something very wrong with driver version 23.160.0.4.
