Intel Centrino Advanced N6235 connection problems

I have a Samsung NP530U3C and whenever the computer is close to the router (3 meters), the connection is fine. However, whenever I am in certain areas of the library or at my appartment the connection drops and then takes some time to reconnect again (even though the computer finds the network). This problem does not occur with other (and much older) laptops. I installed the newest driver and already adjusted energy settings, tried the highest setting of roaming activity - nothing helps. What can I do?

Hi Mary_Kay!

Thank you for posting your inquiry in the Intel Support Communities.

It would be interesting to know the signal strength you get when you are close to the router. Normally it is expected to be between 0 and -30 dBm. If a program like http://www.techspot.com/downloads/5936-inssider.html inSSIDer* 3 reads -50, -70 or so at such distance, it can be related to the antennas. If that is the case I suggest you contacting the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm system manufacturer for assistance.

If the signal strength is good within close range but it only drops when distance is increased the problem may be caused by interference from other wireless devices or walls. Please indicate the wireless band being used 2.4 or 5 GHz if more help is needed.
