Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 : Has encountered a conflict in resources and could not load.

Every time when I turn on my DELL XPS 13 2015 (9343) it's a fortune: will wifi work on not. In 20 percent - NO! To make work it again I have to turn off laptop and turn on again. I suffer with this more than 1 year. Windows 10 clean installed.

I thought Windows 10 Creators Update will fix it, but NO!

  1. Was this adapter preinstalled on your system, or an upgrade part?
  2. Have you engaged your http://http//www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html computer manufacturer in regards to this issue?
  3. Please download and run the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility Intel® System Support Utility. This application will scan your hardware configuration and settings and allow you to save them into a report.
  4. Please create a WLAN report so that we may further review the errors described http://https//www.tenforums.com/tutorials/47080-create-wlan-report-windows-10-a.html (How to Create a WLAN Report in Windows 10).

Hi,

My laptop screen shuts down suddenly, 6-10 times a day. When I checked the event log after this incident I saw errors.

Description:Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 : The network adapter has returned an invalid value to the driver.

I have created a wlan report and attached it.

1. Upgrade.

2. From the first day there is random issue with original sound card. Repeatedly I contact with Dell Support, but nothing. They advices is very primitive like: make clean install of Windows 10. Nevertheless I did all his advices and got nothing. Issue still exist. This is my last device from dell. Their support is disgustingly. I'm not the only one who have this issue.

We don't provide support for custom wireless integrations or upgrades. Issues like these being commonplace (almost expected) are part of the reason why.

Please keep in mind that it's very likely that you're experiencing a hardware compatibility issue. The Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 adapter comes in 7 different versions, only your OEM can let you know which, if any, are compatible with your system. After which, your support will come through them.

Without guarantees, we can recommend removing your current wireless driver and installing our IT Admin version through a driver only install (without wireless software).

 

 

1. Download and extract our latest IT Admin driver for your adapter: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26657/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-IT-Admins Wireless_19.50.1_Driver64_Win10.zip

 

2. Under Programs and Features in the Control Panel, uninstall any instance of the "Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software." When prompted, choose to "discard settings."

 

3. Go to the Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click on your Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 and uninstall it. Make sure to mark the option to "Delete the driver software for this device."

 

4. Clear out your temporary files: Press the Windows* Key + R to open the run box. Type Cleanmgr.exe and press OK. Here you will need to make sure Temporary Files are checked, you may uncheck everything else (unless you're ok with the extra wait) and press OK.

 

5. Reboot your computer.

 

6. Go to the Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click on your Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 again, this time choose to "Update driver software..." > Select the option to "Locate and install driver software manually." Here you will need to direct the wizard to the location where you extracted the IT Admin package back in step one.

 

 

After this, you may apply our http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005544.html recommended wireless settings as an optional step.

If after these steps your issue continues, our next best recommendation will be to work with your computer manufacturer to make sure that you're using a wireless adapter that has been approved for your computer. If your current adapter is not on their hardware validation list, you can work with them to get an adapter that will work.

 

 

If they provided the approval for your current replacement, then you will need to rely on them as your main source of support.

Windows PC computers concept is always was multi hardware system. Do you hear about old standard Plug & Play? How old are you?

In 90th Windows PCs became popular because any user can assemble from different hadware cheap UPGRADABLE PC.

From wikipedia:

"Legacy Plug and Play was defined in Microsoft and Intel specifications, which proposed changes to legacy hardware, as well as the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIOS BIOS to support operating system-bound discovery of devices."

So, what are you saying about?! Are you professional? I'm not sure!

I got new interest event:

This is means the intel driver can't process some events from intel wifi adapter, or can't work with it correct. And this is mean that intel driver isn't sterling/completed.

We understand your frustration. Unfortunately, wireless adapters are not simple plug and play devices. These limitations are not put in place by us, but by your computer manufacturer (and regulatory agencies). If it were up to us, we would make it as simple as possible to add new Intel® parts into any computer.

 

 

Errors such as these generally mean that our driver is unable to communicate properly with your adapter, or that your adapter is not responding properly. This points towards your adapter being faulty, not installed properly (physically), or not compatible.

 

 

Our recommendation is to verify with your computer manufacturer, and if possible to purchase a wireless adapter replacement from them. However, you may also want to test using the Microsoft* In-box driver. For this you will need to remove our current driver, and allow the operating system to install it's generic version:

 

 

Device Manager > Network Adapters > Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 > Right click > Uninstall Driver Software > Delete the driver software for this device.

 

 

You may need to do this once or twice, or until the driver provider shown under properties is Microsoft* and not Intel®.

Unfortunately, wireless adapters are not simple plug and play devices.

Do you try tell me about frequencies limitation in different countries? Other reasons why "wireless adapters are not simple plug and play devices" I don't see.

This points towards your adapter being faulty, not installed properly (physically), or not compatible.

Adapter works fine (and much faster than original Broadcom) till I put laptop in sleep mode and get back.

So, if I will stop use Sleep mode and will start use Hibernate instead problem will be gone. And I'm not sure that original adapter(Broadcom) didn't have same issue. As I remember it have. And that is why I changed it.

Since the adapter can be put into a sleep state, but not woken back up, it's very possible that your computer does not support the same power management features integrated into the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260.

 

 

This is not an adapter or driver issue, but rather compatibility.

 

 

You may try updating to the latest BIOS available for your computer, which was released in February of this year. It's possible that this may resolve the issue, but we cannot guarantee anything:
