Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz often loses internet link to wifi router

Goodday,
For the past months i have this issue that happens a few times a day concerning my wifi connection.

The link tot the router stays, but it isn't linked to internet anymore.
The frequency is random.
No other online devices have this issue.

In the start i needed to restart the laptop  a few times.  Now i figured out i can open Device Manager.   Uninstall the driver in Network adapters.  And Scan for Hardware Changes, and then open WiFi menu and reconnect to network with my password.

I already rolled back drivers, downloaded the latest drivers and installed them.

I found an event log.   Since end april 413 events.
3 steps.
event id 420 information  then event id 400 information, then event id 411 error.

Error text.

Hello Quappie

In order to check this behavior further, could you please provide the following information?

1- Is the Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX210 the original wireless adapter that came pre-installed in your system or did you install/integrate it on the computer?

2- When did the issue start to happen? Did the system work fine before at any time? Is this a new computer? Please provide details.

3- Do you remember if this issue happened after a new Windows update or Wireless/Bluetooth driver update?

4- Have you tried a different router or Access point for testing purposes? Maybe one that is AX compatible? Have you rebooted your access point, router, modem? Please provide details.

5- Router/Access point brand, model, and firmware version:

6- Have you checked if this issue happens on different networks? Is this issue happening at home, office environment, or both?

7- Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

  • Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer
  • Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
  • Once you have saved the file (.txt file), please attach it to your reply.
  • To upload and attach a file, use the "Drag and drop here or browse files to attach" option below the response textbox.

Goodday and thank you.

laptop should be 2-3 years old.  the problems started in february 2023.
I tried the     Reset TCP / IP and Winsock in Windows 10 back then.   no change.
I assumed it would go away with update.

I rebooted my modem today.  Internet provider did not offer many other options like a system reset.  but no other laptop online has had these issues in the past year.

I added the .txt.

I still have a similar issue since I upgraded my laptop's wireless card (Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160 MHZ). The connection would disconnect occasionally. I had to re-enter the WiFi password to log in. The driver software is updated. I removed the older driver before upgrading the wireless card. It has been going on for over a few months since I replaced the card.

I have a Fiber network at home and support WiFi 6.

Hello Quappie,

Before we proceed, please note that this is an OEM device, so we will try to assist you with general troubleshooting steps. However, if the issue persists, you will have to contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer of your device. Your device manufacturer may have altered features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to some components for better compatibility with your system.

For your reference, here's the link to your OEM website support:
https://www.medion.com/gb/service/topic/medion-products?msnCheck=Crawler%20E25

We noticed that the driver currently installed on your laptop based on the SSU log is "22.0.1.5". We suggest that you try the latest generic driver from Intel which is 23.60.1.2 and let us know if the issue persists or any performance changes with regards to internet connection.

Also, I would like to know where did you download the drivers for this?

For your reference, here's the link to the driver on Intel website:
Intel® Wireless Wi-Fi Drivers for Windows® 10 and Windows 11*

Goodday,
thank you for the detailed review.

In the past i have used an automatic tool from Intel several times.
I see now something like 'the driver and support assistant'.  But i'm not sure it is still the same program as a year ago.
With in the past months i did try-outs to roll back.
And installing the original drivers on the d://reboot drive from the laptop.  (dated march 2021)
This could be the current driver.
When i found the trick to reconnect without rebooting the laptop, i was already very relieved.

So after your message, and with the recurring of the issue, i uninstalled the wifi drivers again.
I looked up the files in windows system32.
netwfw10.dat  - netwtw10.sys -  vwifibus.sys     were removed.
intelIHVRouter10.dll was still there but protected.

I installed the drivers with the tool from your Intel link.   Installed version 23.60.1.2
I reconnected but the issue persisted, connected to wifi but pc was remaining offline.
I used the Intel SSU again and made a new report.  added below as 2.

I rebooted the pc 2 times, issue remained.
Logged in on other wifi without problem.

I uninstalled and scanned for hardware changes,  and reconnected without issue.
I made SSU nr 3.  The driver had rolled back to 22.0.1.5"

I installed the drivers with your link to the intel tool again.  or repaired to version 23.60.1.2
It lost the connection during the update.
I had to forget wifi network and log in but it worked.
Version 23.60.1.2   and it was online but only for a few minutes.  The issue had returned.
Logging into another wifi network had no issue.

I uninstalled the driver.
I uploaded the drivers from the medion website.
Scan for hardware changes. and  reconnected with success.
Made a new SSU report 4.

Goodday,
the issue is still there.

I used another laptop for a while, that had no issues for those days.

I used the laptop awhile without peripheral equipment like usb mice or extra monitors, to check if that gave the interference.

I was going to use another browser next.
and I got another wifi router that i will try for a few days now.

So I'm still puzzled.

Thanks for following up, i had some holiday too.

Hi Quappie,

I would like to clarify if you have tried doing clean install of the driver that came from your manufacturer.

Also, have you ever tried contacting your OEM for this?

There is also a new version (23.70.3) came out for your wireless driver from Intel website. To help you with this, please see the link for reference:

Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® Drivers for Windows® 10 and Windows 11*

I recommend doing clean install as well, here's the link for reference:

Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers (intel.com)

Let us know if the issue still persists otherwise, we highly suggest contacting your OEM for this as well.

Goodday,

sorry, i was abroad again this weekend.

I didn't do the clean install yet.  or update the driver.  Or contact the OEM (i didn't read yet to understand what that means exactly).

Switching browsers seems to make no difference.

I connected another wifi router (TP-Link TL-WR841N) on my provider modem (telenet -CH7465LG-TN) by UTP.
It are split wifi networks (it is not set-up like an extender so logins are different)
These past days,  i didn't get the event once on that TP-link wifi-netwerk.

I went back to the main wifi, but then it failed again after a long time.  (I almost considered it as resolved as it was like almost a day)
TP-link wifi is staying good, but it has less distance.

However adding this extra wifi on my network did mess up my cellphone for android -google play - secure apps - browser.
So laptop works, but phone started to have issues on both wifi networks.  I'm guessing clock issues.  It is like sync is off.
My phone can only reliable work on mobile data now.

I rebooted both the modems,  and checked for modem issues , the tp-link has a bad date and time, and can't seem to the update it  NTP.  Flashing it, might solve that, but i didn't bother, could be gatesways closed.

My internet provider now also offers an app to check wifi performance.

So next
I'll do the clean install and update drivers today.
And run the provider app to see if it is worth something.

I wish the story was less weird, sorry

Goodday,
it takes some time to see if it works or not and to get some feedback from internet provider.
I did some tests with the modem. mostly rebooting, changing passwords, ...
They don't offer to replace modem, just want to add their own extra wifi device.

Blank re- installation didn't change anything.
Even after restarting, i need to forget drivers and scan for changes.

The only thing that does seem to be better is that i switched the modem to single band.
Device manager, network adapter, advanced, 802.1.1 a/b/g wireless mode.   I switched it to 2.4GHZ.

That has been holding strong for a day now.   I'm not sure if that solved it.
And the trick with the old modem can mitigate the effects.

Thank you for your time and guidance.
and interest and efforts.

Goodday,
so for any readers.
I switched my router to single band and this solved the mess.

I still see my laptop disconnecting and reconnecting at times,
but it never leads to a failure of connection.
Hence i need to take no other actions then wait a few seconds.
And it is slower.

thank you for the support
