Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 works in MSI Z390 TOMAHAWK?

Hello

Hello.

I already have an Intel Wireless-AC 9560 Wi-Fi card (https://www.intel.com.br/content/www/br/pt/products/sku/99446/intel-wirelessac-9560/specifications.html) installed that works perfectly on the MSI Z390 Tomahawk motherboard (https://msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-Z390-TOMAHAWK/Specification).

I would like to know if the Intel AX211 Wi-Fi card (https://www.intel.com.br/content/www/br/pt/products/sku/204837/intel-wifi-6e-ax211-gig/specifications.html) would work on it.

Thanks!

The short answer is no, it will not work.
First of all, the 300 Series chipsets use the CNVio bus to communicate with the 9560. The AX201, AX211 and AX411, on the other hand, require a chipset that supports the CNVio2 bus. At the same time, the 300 Series chipsets provide a MAC that is incompatible with the AX201, AX211 and AX411. Later Series chipsets are required to support these modules.
Ok, all that said, you might be able to use the AX200 or AX210 cards, which are chipset independent. I say 'might' because I have seen reports of a few laptops whose BIOS would not POST with these cards installed. All you can do is try...
Hope this helps,

Hello Scott.

I tested the AX211 Wi-Fi card and the PC doesn't even turn on.

It is curious that just because this small component is incompatible, the motherboard automatically denies booting. There is no error "beep", the motherboard just refuses to turn on.

Intel should at least say what compatibility each processor has with the corresponding CNVi module. There is no support article about this.

I will have to return it to Aliexpress. Thank you for clarifying my doubt.
