1- Please elaborate more on the issue you are experiencing and the steps you are following.

2- Are you trying to enable your system as a Mobile Hotspot and share your Internet using the Wi-Fi and the 5GHz band? Does it work if you use the 2.4GHz band?

3- Also, country-specific regulatory limitations may affect the functionality and availability of Windows® 10 Mobile Hotspot capabilities. Could you please confirm through a private message only the country where you are located?

4- Is the Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 the original wireless adapter that came pre-installed in your system or did you install it on the laptop?

Best regards,

  1. In the mobile hot spot, wireless Internet does not turn on when you select a 5 GHz network range.
  2. Yes, I want to share the Internet using wi fi and the 5 GHz band. wi fi works on the 2.4 band, when you select the 5 GHz band, wi fi does not turn on and a red message pops up from above: "The selected network range is not available. Select a different range and try again."
  3. Russia
  4. The wi fi module itself was built-in at the time of purchase, in the z390 aorus master motherboard. When drivers are installed, the system identifies it as Intel® Wireless-AC 9560

Hello zh3rtwa

Thank you very much for all the details provided.

Based on the information you provided where you mentioned that you are in Russia, this is expected behavior due to country-specific regulatory limitations.

You may get an error or not see the 5 GHz band option in certain situations.

Regulatory limitations exist in certain countries (for example, as of 2018, Russia, Japan, China, Israel, Indonesia, and so on) where hotspot isn't allowed to operate on the 5GHz band by itself. You can only use the hotspot on 5GHz when the Windows® 10 PC is connected to a wireless Access Point (AP) operating on specific (passive) 5GHz channels at the same time.

However, you may use hotspot on 5GHz by connecting to an Access Point (AP) on the approved 5GHz (passive) channels for the country before initializing the hotspot. Please contact your AP manufacturer to check if those approved (passive) channels are supported and for instructions on how to set the proper settings.

For more information, please refer to Using Windows® 10 Mobile Hotspot on 5 GHz Band.

Best regards,

Hello zh3rtwa

Thank you for your response.

We understand that this might not be the answer you were looking for. However, based on country-specific regulatory limitations, what we can recommend is checking with the Acess Point/Router manufacturer if it would be possible to apply the fix described in the link provided in our previous post:  Using Windows® 10 Mobile Hotspot on 5 GHz Band.

Hello zh3rtwa

Thank you for your response.

The possible fix described in the link we shared for the issue of getting an error or not seeing the 5 GHz band option depends upon Access Point (AP) capabilities (connecting to an AP on the approved 5GHz (passive) channels).

Unfortunately, this is regulated by your country's laws and related to country-specific regulatory limitations. If the AP does not have the option for the fix, our last suggestion is to check this further with your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the motherboard, in this case, GIGABYTE* support team.

Best regards,
