Intel Wireless AC 9560 no longer detected after changing to kernel 5.4.0-150 on Ubuntu 18.04

With kernel version 5.4.0-149 the Intel Wireless AC 9560 in my ThinkPad P1 running Ubuntu 18.04 is working fine, but with kernel version 5.4.0-150 the card is no longer detected, i.e.

lspci | grep wifi gives no output.

Strange enough, modinfo iwlwifi also gives no output and sudo modprobe iwlwifi throws an error message that this module would not be know.

I have backports-iwlwifi-dkms installed.

I checked /lib/firmware to ensure the presence of the corresponding files.

Intel's Linux support is usually quite good, this is likely to be a operating system issue.

Which additional diagnostics could I run to pin down the problem?

2. Have you checked with Lenovo if the system supports Ubuntu 18.04?
