I have a two day old asus laptop with the intel ac-8260. While using the wifi anywhere the connection will randomly stop working while still being recognized as being connected. I've tried several solutions including: reseting the adapter, fresh driver installs, updating to the newest driver(19.50), using an older driver, and windows troubleshooting. I'm trying to find a solution to the problem without having to get a replacement laptop. I'm at a loss at the moment about there being a fix for it because I think i have a faulty network adapter.

We understand that your new PC is having connectivity issues with different wireless networks and the issue persists after the actions you attempted. As you mentioned, doing a clean install of the current https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26653/Wireless-Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-... Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows® 10 [19.50.1] is recommended (remove the PROset program and delete the 8260 driver from Device Manager before installing).

Please make sure you try different types of networks, in some cases the 8260 may work better with routers using 802.11ac and the 5 GHz band. If the router is older, you can still modify the adapter's configuration or perform other actions.

I've currently tried everything I've seen as a suggestion from both intel and others with similar problems and seems to still have the problems. I have contacted Asus and they are letting me ship in the laptop to be looked at and be fixed at no cost to me.
UPDATE: I brought the laptop with me to school today just to try it out and it connects to and holds the connection to the wifi at my university. This is causing me to wonder where my problem really is. What would cause the wifi to not work at my home location but work at school?

- If this does not help, you may try to connect a few times and then create a WLAN report, this should contain some information that may help us in order to provide more suggestions.
- It's also important to make sure that your router at home is using the latest firmware available. This can be obtained through the router manufacturer or your internet service provider.
