Issues with Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz in 2025

Hello, I came from this post:

 https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Wi-Fi-6E-AX210-160MHz-Frequent-Disconnects/td-p/1598264

I consider it more of a workaround than a definitive solution (we should not keep relying on outdated drivers).

I recently purchased a Lenovo LOQ laptop with an Intel Core i5-12450HX processor. I upgraded from Windows 11 Home 22H2 to a clean installation of Windows 11 Pro 24H2.

This has been a complete mess, since I originally experienced network stability issues. To clarify: on a basic laptop I used to get 3–5 ms latency to my local router, but on this new device I consistently get 100 ms or higher ping (to the same router), along with random disconnections. Upon checking, I initially attributed the issue to the stock Wi-Fi adapter (Realtek RTL8852BE).

As mentioned, after installing a new Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160 MHz card with the new operating system, the issue still persists: high latency to the local router and frequent disconnections, even when using the 23.160.0* driver (the latest available).

I tried the workaround from the other post by rolling back to the 22.110.0.1 driver, which I consider outdated (undesirably this is a temporary solution).

My assumption —though I cannot confirm it— is that the issue may be related to the interaction between the drivers, the processor, and the Wi-Fi card, or perhaps to some inaccessible internal code bug.

Nevertheless, I still cannot understand why this problem has persisted for almost a year without any definitive solution.

Hello wnunez,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to better understand and diagnose the issue further, let me ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help me isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action moving forward.

  1. Let me clarify, you installed AX210 on your system manually as an upgrade/replacement of the Realtek wireless card?
  2. And after that, you are still having the same issue?
  3. If yes, did you remove the old drivers of Realtek before installing the new driver from Intel?
  4. What are the other troubleshooting steps that you tried?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

  1. Let me clarify, you installed AX210 on your system manually as an upgrade/replacement of the Realtek wireless card?

resp: yes upgrade and replacement

  1. And after that, you are still having the same issue?

resp: yes, Otherwise I wouldn't be here posting the situation.

  1. If yes, did you remove the old drivers of Realtek before installing the new driver from Intel?

resp: yes

  1. What are the other troubleshooting steps that you tried?

resp: just install the old version of the driver... (because this old version does work.)

I still think the problem here may be between the processor, the driver and the network card, all three together. The problem is that I don't have a tool that I can run locally to see the behavior of the network data moving on the laptop to determine why the ms increase.

How much time has passed and the problem still persists.

Hello wnunez,

Thank you for the update.

Kindly try to perform clean driver installation and update me if you are still having the same issue.

Kindly refer to the link below for the steps and where to download the generic driver:
