Miracast with Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 130?

Hi,

I have a Samsung Laptop with Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 130

Can I update it to be able to use Miracast? Currently I don't have the option to mirror my screen in a compatible TV for example.

If not, is there any solution apart from buying a new laptop?

Thank you.

I have just realized that there are no drivers for this adapter to Win 10!!

Is it possible to request Intel to please create a driver to this adapter, even if it's not supported anymore?

It's a shame that a perfectly good adapter won't work with Win 10 just because of a driver, if that's the case. Through a normal Win 10 video app, it's possible to easily share the video to a TV by wifi. But to normally mirror the screen through "Project", there is no option to "Add a wireless device".

Thank you.

Hello cgoncalo,

As you mentioned, the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 130 is already discontinued and reached End of Interactive Support. There won't be any new driver releases for this product. This is noted in the advisory: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000006507.html Customer Support Options for Discontinued Intel® Wireless Products.

This adapter is not supported with Windows® 10, therefore the advanced features of the OS, such as Miracast*, are not expected to work in this configuration. Please check the following document: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking/000005602.html Supported Operating Systems for Intel® Wireless Products.

In this case, we advise you to check with with the TV or https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer if they support any other options to cast video to your TV. You can also check if there are other possibilities using an older Operating System.

Hello cgoncalo,

In this case, we advise you to check with the https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/OEMs.html Computer Manufacturer Support, or with Windows* Support. They will be the best source to confirm if your PC supports Miracast* or any other wireless display technology.
