NETwNb64 cannot be found

I have a Sony Tap 11 running Windows 8.1. It has been running great. As of yesterday, I can no longer access my corporate network. When I look in the Event Viewer, I see:

The description for Event ID 8000 from source NETwNb64 cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\NDMP13

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file

I have uninstalled the driver, rebooted, and nothing seems to work. If I turn on tethering on mobile phone, I can see that wireless network and it connects fine. Very strange.

The driver is...

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260

Version: 17.1.1.1

Any help would be appreciated!

-Jeff

Hello Jeff_Jeff_Jeff,

When you bought your computer, did it come with the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 already installed in it or did you install it afterwards? We would have two options here that might help you resolving this issue:

1 - If your computer came with it already installed, your best option would be to download the latest drivers from the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and also check with them if they have any recommendation as, in this case, the wireless adapter has been modified and customized accordingly by the OEM in order to fit their system. Click in this link: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER Sony eSupport - Drivers & Software Updates - Select a Model to check your driver version.

2 - If the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 was installed after you bought your computer, you may want to update the driver from our support page, here is the link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=Intel%C2%AE+Dual+Band+Wireless-AC+7260 Intel® Download Center

*Please, make sure to select the correct system architecture (64 or 32 bit) in order to install the correct drivers. We recommend that you uninstall the current version completely from device manager and then proceed with the installation of the latest drivers. This procedure requires that you have your computer connected via an Ethernet cable as you will lose your wireless connection when you uninstall the drivers.

Let us know if this helped you.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the wireless adapter is OEM. I found and updated the driver. I also installed the Intel wireless tools to see what is going on. I'm still not able to connect, but here is the output...

Hello Jeff_Jeff_Jeff,

Based on your last update, we would like to recommend the following:

1 - If it an issue with the Wi-Fi profile, you will need to delete it for the business network. If it is handled by Windows* you go to Networking and Sharing Center. If it handled by the Intel® PROset you can remove the profiles in the management application.

2 - We advise you to check with the system administrator if there are any changes that were applied on the corporate network such as passwords or configurations.

3 - Check your computer for any system updates that might be causing this issue.

Let us know if this helped you.
