Hello everyone,
I am facing an unusual issue while conducting tests involving network frame captures on my Ubuntu 22.04 setup equipped with an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX210 160MHz wireless adapter. Here's a brief overview:
Environment:
- Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, kernel version: 6.5.0-45-generic
- Hardware: Asus PN64-E1
- Wireless Adapter: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX210/AX211/AX411 160MHz (rev 1a)
- Testing Setup: Closed Shielded Chamber (no external interference)
Issue Description:
While performing tests, I observed inconsistent behavior when trying to capture network frames over the 5GHz frequency band, particularly with an 80MHz bandwidth setting. During transmission of approximately 3.5GB of data through iperf from an Access Point to a Mobile Device, my Wireshark sniffer managed to capture only around 200MB worth of packets. Notably, this issue did not occur when reverting to either a 40MHz bandwidth or the 2.4GHz spectrum (regardless of channel selection).
Could anyone offer insights into possible causes behind this anomaly or propose troubleshooting steps?
Thank you very much for your assistance!
Best regards,
Piotr

Hello piotrb1,
Thank you for posting in our communities.
In order for me to provide you the appropriate answer with your query, kindly provide the following information:
- Is the Wi-Fi 6 AX210/AX211/AX411 the one that came pre-installed in each system that you tried testing? or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently to each of those systems?
- What is the make and model of your access point and mobile device?
- Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze your system specifications and configurations. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: Intel® System Support Utility for the Linux* Operating System. Please send me the generated SSU.txt file.
Best regards,
