Hi,
We are creating 2.4GHz and 5GHz hotspots on Ubuntu 24.10 using the Intel AX210-PCIe Wi-Fi card. While the 2.4GHz hotspot works as expected, we are unable to create the 5GHz hotspot and encounter the following error when attempting to do so:
Error: Connection activation failed: 802.1X supplicant took too long to authenticate.
Hint: Use 'journalctl -xe NM_CONNECTION=b8abc296-fc84-44c7-8d6b-f066ec551e1a + NM_DEVICE=wlp11s0' to get more details.
Here is the system configuration and attached the logs for reference:

Are there any additional steps or configurations required to enable 5GHz hotspot functionality?

Hi, Swarna_123.
Thank you for posting in our Community and for providing detailed information about your issue with creating a 5GHz hotspot using the Intel AX210 on Ubuntu 24.10. I understand that while the 2.4GHz hotspot works as expected, you are encountering an error when attempting to create a 5GHz hotspot. Are you using the latest firmware and drivers for the Intel AX210? Have you recently updated your system and drivers? If so, could you please share the exact version of your wireless driver, as it is not visible in the provided logs? Have you verified that the Intel AX210 supports 5GHz hotspot functionality on your specific hardware and Ubuntu version?
If you've already taken any steps to resolve this issue before reaching out, please share those details with me so we can avoid repeating any unnecessary actions. Additionally, you provided logs showing the errors and tests for your 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands, but I still need more information about your system configuration. Please run the Intel SSU report and share the results with me so I can verify details such as OS build, driver version, and any errors logged at the system level.
Have a nice day!
Best regards,
Von M.
