Hi,

Refer to the previous ticket: https://community.intel.com/t5/Wireless/Unable-to-Create-5GHz-Hotspot-Using-Intel-AX210-on-Ubuntu-24-10/m-p/1659884/emcs_t/S2h8ZW1haWx8dG9waWNfc3Vic2NyaXB0aW9ufE02OTlNU0tNMTZNSk9MfDE2NTk4ODR8U1VCU0NSSVBUSU9OU3xoSw#M57831

We are creating 2.4GHz and 5GHz hotspots on Ubuntu 24.10 using the Intel AX210-PCIe Wi-Fi card. While the 2.4GHz hotspot works as expected, we are unable to create the 5GHz hotspot and encounter the following error when attempting to do so:

Error: Connection activation failed: 802.1X supplicant took too long to authenticate.
Hint: Use 'journalctl -xe NM_CONNECTION=b8abc296-fc84-44c7-8d6b-f066ec551e1a + NM_DEVICE=wlp11s0' to get more details.

Here is the system configuration and attached the logs & SSU report for reference:

Are there any additional steps or configurations required to enable 5GHz hotspot functionality?

Hello Swarna_123,

I understand that you are having challenges with creating 5Ghz hotspot. Please share the additional information below.

1. What is the full model of your router?

2. Were you able to create a 5Ghz hotspot previously?

3. Is this the original adapter that came pre-installed in your system, or have you changed/installed a new adapter recently?

4. Screenshot/photo of the error message?

5. Is this a laptop or desktop system?

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Hi Swarna_123,

Upon checking, Regulatory limitations exist in certain countries, where hotspot is not allowed to operate on the 5GHz band by itself. I will send you an email to gather more information and please check your inbox at your earliest convenience.
