AFAIK some but not all Wifi chips support Intel ProSet tool.
Do all Intel Chips support this tools?
Do only Centrino Wifi chipsets support IntelProset software?
Or is it motherboard manufacturer dependent?
Is there a utility which tells me if the current wifi chipset and/or motherboard supports Intels ProSet tool?

Peter, the Intel® Proset Software is only compatible with Intel® wireless adapters.
If you want to verify what version of Intel® Proset software is supported by your Intel® wireless adapter I would recommend you to go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx downloadcenter.intel.com and search for your wireless adapter model there or run the Intel® Driver Update Utility.
