Will wireless 9260 work in Inspiron 7359

I have an old Inspiron 7359 that's wireless adapter (a 3165) seems to have gone out, as it only flickers on and off in Windows 10. I've tried reinstalling Windows, flashing BIOS, and reinstalling drivers as well as cleaning the cards contacts with no luck.

I have a 9260 that I'd like to use in it, but I've not had any luck getting Windows to recognize it. I've attempted installing drivers from here, but only run into an "undefined error" when installing it.

My next attempt will probably be to move the HDD to another computer and attempt to update Windows, but I honestly have no idea if this will do any good. Honestly I'm not even sure if the card will work at all.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

8--bit, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

For this scenario, it is important to mention that when using a mobile device, such as a laptop, everything is customized by the manufacturer of it, they can enable/disable BIOS settings as well as features and functions of their device to comply with the functionality advertised by them.

When you install the wireless card on a laptop that is what is called "Wireless Integration", and the thing about that process is that there are a lot of components that come into play, like for example: board, wireless card, drivers, PCI adapters, antennas, m.2 ports, all those parts need to be compatible for the proper functionality of the Wireless connection. There is also regulatory information about the "Wireless Integration" that you can verify in the following links:

So, in this case, the next thing to do then will be to get in contact directly with Dell Support to check that all the parts are fully compatible and for them to provide further assistance on this matter:

Any questions, please let me know.

My apologies for such a late response. Thank you so much for the information.

In the end, I found Windows to be the issue with accepting the 9260. I downloaded the latest Win 10 ISO and updated, at which point the card was recognized and worked perfectly.

Again thank you for your response.
