Wireless will randomly stop working

So my laptop has the Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000 and recently it has stopped working. I've system restored my laptop several times but can't seem to make the wifi work.

Instead of the wifi symbol in the bottom right hand corner, this new icon appears

I am really sorry for this issue.

I suggest two steps verification in regards of the wireless adapter functionality:

  1. You may want to check that your system has WiFi connectivity enabled. The system manufacturers usually provide a hardware or software switch for this purpose, sometimes is a combination of both. http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-020275.htm Intel Wi-Fi Products; Wireless radio cannot be enabled from software
  2. Once you checked the first step you may want to check the status of the Intel® wireless adapter driver in Device Manager (Control Panel). By having the WiFi switch enabled the wireless adapter should appear there and show: "This device is working properly". http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-025417.htm Intel Wi-Fi Products; Identify your Intel wireless adapter and driver version number

If the wireless adapter does not appear at all you may have a hardware issue and it is recommended to contact the system manufacturer for assistance.
