Intel no longer manufactures cards in the older HMW formfactor. All is not lost, however; there are 3rd-party companies that take the Intel silicon and mount it on older formfactor cards. These cards utilize the exact same drivers as the NGW cards, downloaded (yourself) from the Intel Download Center, so nothing sketchy here. These cards are slightly more expensive than the Intel NGW cards (due to smaller sales volumes, I think). Here are examples:
- MPE-AX3000H (US$24, utilizes AX200 Wireless-AX WiFi 6 silicon): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091FJXQHH
- MPE-AXE3000H (US$28, utilizes AX210 Wireless-AX WiFi 6e silicon): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09F3CLKLH
Note: These cards are examples only; the ones that I actually purchased and tested are from a company named Fenvi, who doesn't seem to offer these card-level products through Amazon (I purchased mine through NewEgg).
Here are links for downloading the latest drivers supporting these cards:
- Wireless: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19351.
- Bluetooth: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18649.
Last but not least, let me say that Al is absolutely correct; you are taking a chance purchasing one of these cards; there is no guarantee that we can give that they will for-sure work. I know that your system is long out of service and there is little chance of getting an answer from the manufacturer, so you really have no choice but to try. You say you deleted the BIOS' Inclusion list, but I've never seen a BIOS that supported this operation (removing the list would be contrary to why they had it there in the first place, as slimy as that is), so I am sceptical that you actually have. Still, you'll see...
Hope this helps - and let us know one way or the other how you do,

You should consult with lenovo regarding compatibility and integration with your laptop, and any restrictions that may apply.

That is the whole point - compatibility. I will not sit here and tell you something will work, only to have you spend your money and then come back complaining that it does not work. It is always the case that you should consult with the laptop manufacturer regarding this. Also, Lenovo is notorious for whitelists. They know what they support, we do not.
