Re: DEB-based installer bug

Same problem on my Ubuntu VERSION="22.04.3 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)". I always do fresh install of new oneAPI version after purging all previously installed packages. 'apt' tends to install new versions parallel to those already installed, instead of upgrading them

Such a clean install works fine but then, the above mentioned 4 packages are constantly reported as upgradable.

same problem in Ubuntu 20.04.6.

When I run the command:

$ apt policy intel-oneapi-compiler-cpp-eclipse-cfg
intel-oneapi-compiler-cpp-eclipse-cfg:
Installed: 2023.2.1-16
Candidate: 2023.2.1-16
Version table:
2023.2.1-16 500
500 https://apt.repos.intel.com/oneapi all/main all Packages
*** 2023.2.1-16 100
...

Eventually should it be "*** 2023.2.1-16 500"?

At least it is what I get for:

$ apt policy intel-oneapi-advisor
intel-oneapi-advisor:
Installed: 2023.2.0-49486
Candidate: 2023.2.0-49486
Version table:
*** 2023.2.0-49486 500
500 https://apt.repos.intel.com/oneapi all/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
2023.1.0-43480 500

That don't have this problem of  endless upgrade.

Hi Michal, could you please share the below details for further investigation:

  • Correct version of Intel® oneAPI you are installing.
  • Name of 4 packages which always shows for upgrade.
  • Screenshot of an error.

I'm not Michal, but I'm getting this in Ubuntu 22.04:

$ sudo apt full-upgrade
[...]
The following packages will be upgraded:
 intel-oneapi-compiler-cpp-eclipse-cfg intel-oneapi-compiler-dpcpp-cpp intel-oneapi-compiler-dpcpp-eclipse-cfg intel-oneapi-compiler-fortran
4 to upgrade, 0 to newly install, 0 to remove and 18 not to upgrade.
Need to get 0 B/7,708 B of archives.
After this operation, 0 B of additional disk space will be used.

Note that the same packages are still to be upgraded, and that it's installing the same version that's already there.
