I cannot install this new version w_BaseKit_p_2022.1.3.210

Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise 2022 (64-bit) - Version 17.1.1

Currently installed is w_BaseKit_p_2022.1.0.116

 

This is a part from the installaion log.

It seems, that only the part of a full new installaltion is fixed.

But i updatet my Visual Studio to Version 17.1 and 17.1.1 after installation of  Intel 2022.1.0

I get the same error while trying to repair the installation or to uninstall the intel baseKit.

Sorry,

but there was a lot of work to do, after loosing two days while uninstalling and installing software.

 

What finally worked:

 

  • Uninstalling ALL versions of Visual Studio (2022 and 2019)
  • Using %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio\InstallCleanup.exe
  • Uninstalling ALL versions of oneAPI (Base and HPC toolkit)
  • Installing Visual Studio 2022 17.1
  • Installing Visual Studion 2019
  • Installing Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit 2022.1.3.
  • Installing oneAPI HPC Toolkit
  • Installing all other Extensions (like ReSharper, ...) for Visual Stdio 2019 / 2022

Thanks for posting your concern on the forum. Yes, you are correct. Our investigation has shown that on Microsoft* Windows*, the installation of Intel® oneAPI Toolkits versions 2022.1 and 2022.1.2 and standalone components will fail using Microsoft* Visual Studio* 2022 version 17.1.x. Its fix is provided in Intel® oneAPI Toolkits version 2022.1.3. However, on your system, to proceed the installer would have to first remove the setup that is causing the issue and then install the new version. Due to that, as you mentioned a full clean installation would work.


Kindly follow the below steps (in the mentioned order).


  • Uninstall Visual Studio 2022 (64-bit) - Version 17.1.
  • Download the installer for the currently installed Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit (2022.1.0.116) and try repairing it through the installer.
  • Uninstall the repaired version through the same Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit installer
  • Install Visual Studio 2022 (64-bit) - Version 17.1 with the Desktop development with C++ component selected.
  • Try installing  Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit 2022.1.3.

Didn't work.

 

After uninstalling Visual Studio 2022 neither repair nor uninstall of oneAPI Base Toolkit 2022.1.0.116 works.

I got the same error.

I don't know, why the Installer stills wants to work with VS 2022, which is not on the machine.

 

And I don't want to re-install my entire computer.

Next try was to Install Version 17.06 of Visual Studio after uninstalling Version 17.1.1.

 

I was able to install the version, but still is repeair or remove of the oneApi Version not possible.

Intel® DPC++ Compatibility Tool was one of the components causing problems with my own attempts to update oneAPI Base Toolkit 2022.1.2 to 2022.1.3 and when that failed, to uninstall 2022.1.2 via normal methods

Thanks for the logs and details. Based on what you mentioned, it does seem that traces of Visual Studio are still on the system and are still being detected & loaded. Kindly visit the below link to find Microsoft's recommended ways to uninstall and remove Visual Studio completely.

Please note, the workaround steps that we had provided are to be followed in the mentioned order and only when the previous step has successfully been completed. Therefore, please proceed with them once you are done uninstalling the Visual Studio completely via the methods mentioned in the link.


However, do let us know if the issue still persists while trying to repair the toolkit product. Looking forward to your update.

This issue was reported in an earlier post.  The only thing that worked was install Windows again.   

It actually turned out to be faster than to waste more time on an impossible fix.  

It was an interesting challenge.
