Working on tablet management solutions and require Win7 on a tablet (i.e. Dell Venue 11). It appears that most tablets currently available use I2C for touchscreen.

Is there a Win7 I2C driver available?

Hello JJS3,

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

We suggest you to contact the manufacturer of your computer to receive the further drivers, because they have modified the devices where the video, audio, or other features are generated. These changes have been implemented in their drivers, which in this specific case can be found as a reference at the following web site:

Thanks Carlos,

The Dell site has a Serial driver that supports I2C, however it is only compatible with Windows 8.1. We are looking for an I2C driver that works with Windows7. The touchscreen for this device, (and most tablets) is interfaced through the I2C serial bus. Any additional information that you can provide would be appreciated.

Hello JJS3,

Thanks for your reply.

We suggest you verify with the manufacturer of your tablet that the mentioned Operating System (OS) is listed as a supported by this device.

Intel can give you generic drivers, which are not guaranteed to work properly with your third party computer. In case that you need them please use the http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu Intel® Driver Update Utility.

Please keep in mind that the proper drivers are provided by the manufacturer of your computer.

Best Regards,

Carlos_A.
