WHL RVP CRB doesn't Start

Hi

For some reason the CRB doesn't start.

Before starting playing with it I read the BIOS flash and save the flash image.

After doing that I power it on but got BIOS error (POST) 0x96 (clear hugh ES segment register).

I wasn't sure what the problem was I decided flashing the BIOS image I previously read and now I get a diffrenet error: EC05 (which I guess is EC error).

What may be the problem?

How can it be fixed?

Is there a place where I can check the required jumpers configuration of the CRB?

Is there a ready to flash IFWI image for this CRB?

BTW, a question in another subject. Does Intel ship these CRB's which CPU fused with BootGuard enabled?

Regards,

Tal

Hello @tallu:

Thanks for contacting Intel Embedded Support.

You should review the procedures stated in the Whiskey Lake U Platform RVP Customer Reference Board (CRB) User Guide document # 595776, which should be followed.

You should follow the steps stated in section 4.3, on pages 19 and 20 of the cited user guide, and using the Whiskey Lake Reference Platform RVP CRB BIOS document # 573420 to reprogram the BIOS in the affected CRB if it is needed.

You can find the listed User Guide and BIOS when you are logged into your Resource and Design Center (RDC) privileged account on the following websites:

https://cdrdv2.intel.com/v1/dl/getContent/565776

https://cdrdv2.intel.com/v1/dl/getContent/573420

You should fill out the form stated on the following website when you have problems with the provided websites or want to update your RDC account:

Best regards,

Hi @CarlosAM_INTEL

To follow the steps described in section 4.3 of document 595776 I need full SPI image.

However, 573420 doesn't include full SPI image (as stated in section 1.1).

Section 1.2 descrbies what is needed to create full SPI image for the CRB BIOS.

It states that to create full SPI image you need to download:

1) Latest system BIOS.

2) Intel® ME firmware kit.

Where can I find those?

I would also like to know:

1) Is there a user guide which describes all the leds of the CRB?

2) Where can I find a description of all the CRB BIOS POST 80 codes?

Regards,

Tal
