Configuration options for E830-CQDA2

Hello,

I have a question on the Intel E830-CQDA2.

According to the product brief the card can be configured for various speed options using the EPCT.

Would the following combination work?

port 1: 100GbE (via DAC)

port 2: 25GbE (via QSA adapter from QSFP28 to SFP28 w/ 25GbE optical module)

Configuration would still be on 2x100GbE (default) I assume?

I assume that in case this works it would also work under pcie 5.0 x4 (128Gbit/s), correct?

Thanks a lot for clarification.

Best regards,

Markus

Hello Markus87,

Greetings!!

The Intel® Ethernet Network Adapter E830-CQDA2 supports flexible port configurations via the Ethernet Port Configuration Tool (EPCT), enabling each QSFP28 port to be independently set to various speeds including 200/100/50/25/10GbE. The default configuration is 2x100GbE.

However, EPCT allows for customized setups, such as asymmetric configurations like 100GbE/25GbE, by applying the appropriate configuration string followed by a system reboot.

For more details on EPCT and its usage, please refer to the following link:

Hello Amina,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I haven't bought the adapter yet. This is a pre-sales question and the answer is related to the adapter and it's possible operation modes only and fully independent of the concrete system setup.

May I kindly ask you if the Intel E830-CQDA2 (OEM version) can be operated in mixed mode throughout both ports.

I.e.
Port 1: 100G
Port 2: 25G via QSA Adapter from QSFP28 to SFP28 and/or 4x25G via breakout cable

Thanks again for checking back with the product team.

Best regards,
Markus
