E810 XXVAM2 Limit to 10G

We are using the EE810 XXVAM2 chip connected as two 10G KR ports. Our issue is that the ports advertise two 25G ports which are too fast for the interface. Using tools after boot up and with different OSes to limit the rate is not convenient. Is there a way to limit the chip to only advertise 10G with a different flash file or to save a setting to NVM so it will only advertise 10G on every boot up?

Kindly provide us the below details so that we can check this for you.


1) The system/server information that you are using ( model name and motherboard details)

2) Is this Ethernet controller built in or was it manually added later

3) Kindly let us know which tools are you using currently to limit the rates per port

The E810 chip is directly our motherboard.  It is called a 68INT6.  There is not server involved we are connecting two of our mother boards to each other.  Since both are set to 25G the link tries to connect at that speed and fails because the backplane connection only supports 10G.  We are using tools in Linux to limit the speed but that is too late.  We want the chips to only advertise 10G as the max so we don't need to use these tools after the OS runs.   Is it possible to have this set in the firmware?
