Hello,
we are designing a board which uses Intel Xeon (Ice Lake D) and we want to connect it to the X557-AT4.
From what I found, we will need a firmware for the NVM flash, so that the device will boot up and configure itself, after which it can talk to the CPU. But I did not find any reference or guide where to find those binaries, how to select which ones I need, etc. I would be happy if I could get a guide on how to revive and configure X557's flash.
Thanks

Hello MarosM,
Greetings!!
To revive and configure the NVM (Non-Volatile Memory) flash on the Intel® X557-AT4, you need to restore a valid firmware image to the onboard SPI flash. This process is necessary if the NVM is corrupted, erased, or you are building a custom board and need to initialize the device for the first time.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000089896/ethernet-products.html
The X557-AT4 loads its configuration from an external SPI flash at power-on. If the NVM is missing or corrupted, the device may enter a special "Recovery Mode" that allows only minimal functionality and NVM restoration If the NVM is corrupted, the device will not initialize fully and may be reported in the OS or device manager as being in "Firmware Recovery Mode".
Intel does not provide generic NVM binaries for public download, and it is noted that the correct NVM image must be obtained through an Intel representative or under a support agreement.

Hello Vishal,
I am in talks with the support team about joining the IPS support program, hope that will help me out, still trying to get there.
I must say that I have never been through such a tedious and non-straight-forward path to do a design with a chip...
But I guess nothing more can be done in a public forum now.
Cheers
