Intel Driver & Support Assistant does not see new versions!
I have a desktop PC with Windows 10, a motherboard ( ASRock X470 Gaming K4 ) that is not cheap, you could call it a gaming motherboard, with an Intel network adapter ( I211 Gigabit Network Connection) built in.
I always relied on your program to show the latest version of the driver with the option to update it. But imagine my disappointment when third-party software (Driver Easy) showed that there was a new version, but your utility assistant did not show it, even though it has direct access to this data!

The Intel website search finds some version 30.3.
It is difficult to find a new driver version for my network adapter on the Intel website.

Hello IxI_JOKER_IxI,
Thank you for posting in our Community and for sharing these details regarding the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) not detecting a newer driver for your Intel® I211 Gigabit Network Connection on your ASRock X470 Gaming K4 motherboard. I completely understand the disappointment when a trusted tool doesn’t display the update you expect, especially after a third-party program like Driver Easy shows a newer release. To move forward and verify why IDSA is not showing the newer version, could you please share:
- The exact download source of the 14.0.7.0 version from Driver Easy — does it link to Intel’s website, ASRock’s support site, or a third-party host
- Whether you’ve installed any recent Windows Updates that might have affected the network driver
Additionally, I'd like to delve deeper and verify specifics like the graphics models, precise driver versions, and any system errors. Utilizing the Intel SSU tool will enable me to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue
Once we have this information, we can determine whether:
- It’s an ASRock-customized release, or it’s a third-party/non-validated version.
Regards,

I don't know where Driver Easy downloaded this driver from. But the program says that the driver has been certified by Microsoft. When I downloaded the driver from your website from the page I mentioned in my second message, 30.3, it was the same version of the driver.
I have disabled updates for other components or drivers in Windows. Only Windows updates are enabled.

...hey mate... You’re running a solid setup, relying on IDSA to keep things current, and then a third-party tool pops up showing a newer version? That’s annoying as heck. Here’s what’s probably happening: sometimes IDSA doesn’t surface certain driver versions immediately, even if they’re WHQL-certified, especially for network adapters like the Intel® I211. Some drivers get rolled out via Windows Update or OEM channels first, and IDSA can lag behind. The version numbers can also be confusing between the complete driver packs and the device’s reported driver.
- IDSA will only recommend Intel-validated generic drivers. OEMs like ASRock may customize drivers for specific hardware configurations.
- Third-party driver tools sometimes detect versions from other vendors or driver packages not intended for your specific system, which may not appear in IDSA.
- Intel’s newer driver package numbers (e.g., 30.x) may still contain the same underlying network driver version (14.x) for the I211 adapter.
As base on the Intel's article Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Fundamentals
heads up IDSA can hook you up with updates for a lot of drivers and software from the Intel® Download Center (https://downloadcenter.intel.com). But not every Intel product is covered by DSA. Before you roll with it, check this page (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000056718/software/software-applications.html) to make sure your gear’s compatible.
Also, DSA doesn’t cover everything on the Download Centa, only a subset. You can peep the full list of supported drivers and software here: (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000032252/software/software-applications.html).

the Intel® I211 Gigabit Network Connection is a legacy product, and its drivers are not always updated or synchronized in real time with third-party tools such as Driver Easy. IDSA is designed to provide the latest validated drivers directly from Intel, which are tested for stability and compatibility. In some cases, newer versions shown by third-party tools may either be generic versions not yet validated for your specific device/motherboard, or released by the motherboard manufacturer (ASRock, in this case), which Intel’s IDSA may not detect automatically.
