Intel I226-V / Intel NUC13 i7

Hello,

I know this has been discussed on many forums, but I cannot find an acceptable solution.

I have an Intel NUC13i7 which has an Intel I226-V Ethernet controller.

I cannot connect to my network (and internet) above around 40 Mbps. 

I read that by disabling the network adapter in the windows device manager, waiting 6 secs then re-enabling it fixes the issue (For that session only). Most of the time this works. But sometimes, like now it does not.  This really make the NUC unusable, as it it does not function as it should and as I need it to.

The I226-V driver is dated 09/02/2023 Version 2.1.3.3 and my OS is Windows 11 Pro.

I have tried all the normal suggestions like reinstalling the driver etc and a fresh install of windows and even trying Win10,  but nothing seems to work.

 

Surely, Intel, you must have a fix for this well documented and well know problem that seems to exist across many different MB manufacturers. 

As my problem is with a new Intel branded NUC13i7 and it has an Intel ethernet controller I thought that posting the problem here is the first step, as this to me, seems very much like an Intel problem.

Hello,

Disable PCIe ASPM support in BIOS and leave only Native ACPI OS PCIe Support
It helped me.

I just checked all the options in the BIOS and it seems like I do not have options to change the PCIe ASPM or Native OS PCIe support.

As you have confirmed that the Intel I226-V Ethernet controller is embedded into an Intel NUC13i7, we request you to contact ASUS as all Technical and Warranty Support for Intel’s NUC 7 through NUC 13 Systems has transitioned to ASUS as of January 16, 2024.

This is exactly what I was expecting! I can't see Asus providing an answer either.

Looks like the only real answer to this is to disable the port and purchase a 2.5 gig USB Ethernet adapter, as the onboard Ethernet is not fit for purpose in this setup. And as I intended to use all the USB ports for a project, it means I also need a powered USB hub.

Not really the answer I wanted, but I suppose it will have to do.
