Intel i219-V System interrupts after WOL when Machine is awake

We are running into an issue where I work with all computer models having Intel i219-V network cards.  Basically if a computer is awake and our management system send it a WOL magic packet, it will cause System Interrupts to eat up 10-25% of the CPU indefinitely until the machine is restarted.  I cannot just disable WOL as we need it for management purposes.

Disabling the WOL/magic packet features makes the issue not happen

I have ran into this issue while running the following drivers for i219-V network cards:

12.27.10.7

12.17.10.8

12.18.8.9

There were more driver versions as well but I do not have them written down.  Has anyone ran into this issue before or have a fix?

Hello pembertj,

Good day!

We hope you don't mind providing the additional information below requested by our engineering team. This would help us with the investigation.

1.Do you have any logs or screenshots to share on how you confirmed the problem? What we have as of the moment is the SSU. Do you have Windows System Event logs (system and application) or other logs that you can provide to confirm?

2.If you connect two Dell systems to do Wake on LAN, can you still reproduce the issue?

3.Can you share if you already tried the latest 25.6 (12.19.1.32) that we previously suggested?

Awaiting to your reply.

Should there be no response from you, I’ll make sure to reach out after 3 business days.

1).  I'm not sure if System Interrupts show up in any logs.  I can watch system interrupts sit at 0% cpu.  I send a WOL packet from another computer and the system interrupts go up to 15%-20% CPU.  Disabling and re-enabling the network card will make the System Interrupts go back down to 0% CPU again.

2) Yes if I put two Dell machines on the network and send a WOL to one of them (with I219-V) it will still cause the issue.

3). The issue still seems to happen after putting the network card to 25.6 (12.19.1.32)

Sounds good.  Just to clarify.  We see this issue when the machine is already awake, and another WOL packet is sent to it (by one of the various application deployments we have going to the machine through SCCM).  Not sure if I had mentioned that before

Hi Intel Expert:

We have same symptoms on LOM with i219LM after WOL. Seek for the solution, thank you!!!

Description
CPU 0 will always run at 60% usage or higher while WOL packet is sent to PC when PC is on.

==> The CPU 0 usage will be down if PC is restart/reconnect the network/disable network card, and recovery.
==> Want to know why it's, do we have solution to fix the problem.
