NVM release notes

I am looking for release notes for the NVM updates on the 700 and 800 series.

There is something in the release notes of the complete driver pack but apparently that only includes changes from that exact release.

It is confusing that version from that driver pack gets mixed up with the actual NVM version. The fact that the hex and decimal version are used side by side does not help either.

It still only lists the availibitly new version not what has changed.

e.g.

Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) Update Utility for Intel® Ethernet E810 Series (version 4.20)

it is also missing the latest versions.

That the same stuff with the mixing of the NVM and the Network Connections Software Version Release updates.

The linked Readme.txt is just "Intel(R) Network Connections Software Version Release 28.3 Release Notes" and does not even mention NVM.

The Release_Notes_28.3.pdf just links to another PDF (WTF?).

The readme.txt in the package does not list changes either.

I would still need to download every Package/Release Notes and go through hundrets of pages to see if there are relevant changes for my products.

P.S I would also appreciate to have not other zips in the Complete Driver Pack zip.

This would allow for full text search and should also compress better.

I noticed by chance when looking at the complete pack that 9.40 for the 700 series (I currently use 9.20) and 4.40 for the 810 is available (I currently use 4.30)

I cannot really find the what has changed in these versions and what has changed from my current version.

It is not clear there is no 9.21, 9.22, etc version but there was a 9.30 and there is not easy way to find the changelog for 9.30 version.

Apparently I would have to download every complete driver pack to find out when the 9.30 was introduced and maybe there is something in the release notes.

Does the NVM even matter once the OS driver has taken over?

Greetings Bartman,

Thank you for your feedback.

Based on our engineering team, you can download the Release notes for each SW release separately.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19622/intel-ethernet-product-software-release-notes.html?wapkw=release%20notes

Matching which NVM version is included with each SW Release version can be done by looking at the Feature Support Matrix documents.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000093197/ethernet-products.html

There is no separated change log for NVM at this time.
